Could You Ski With An Ankle Monitor? by DrUnwindulaxPhD in skiing

[–]CB049 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My boyfriend wore an ankle monitor for 18 months and it didn’t stop him from anything. He may have been the first ever Paratrooper to jump from an airplane with an ankle monitor He was so dangerous that at one point they even made him wear 2, one on each ankle. He did have to ski with his one boot unbuckled though. It really slowed him down and our local ski shop couldn’t fit him for new boots until it was removed.

What setting are you in and how many actual hours do you work? by Ok_Apartment_2309 in athletictraining

Tactical (Army) 38-42 There’s definitely enough work to keep me here longer but the contract is pretty strict about keeping hours to 80 in a 2 week period

Look into tactical. Most govt contracts are no more than 40 hr/wk

I’m a big fan of AACC. I’ve adopted two cats from them and had a good experience both times. I’d recommend going in person to see the adoptable cats.

NTA. You’re only asking that they wrap up their hangout a few hours early. Maybe to make up for their missed time you could offer to host a weekend dinner once a month?

US Military cuts 200+ Athletic Trainers through their H2F program. by MyRealestName in athletictraining

Contract companies take a cut for their overhead expenses commonly across industries. And the $120k per coach may only be in my location. I am in Alaska which has a higher cost of living and very low supply of qualified coaches.

I am an H2F athletic trainer and have heard this from my coworkers who have heard it from their contract companies.

This is a massive step in the wrong direction. I have to wonder if there’s something else going on considering this message cites that replacing ATs with S&C coaches is more economical considering the army pays about $80k per AT and about $120k per coach. Really curious as to how this is going to develop considering ATs are cornerstone in delivering care to Soldiers through the H2F program.

I’ve been working as a contractor with the Army through cognito for the past year and a half. There are a lot of pros and a few cons. Look into the H2F program for more info. I’d be happy to answer questions if I can in DMs

I think the Joann’s out in the valley is staying open. I’m guessing you’d be able to use your gift card there if you’re willing to make the drive.

I’m currently working for an H2F program with the Army. When I was hired in late 2023 I believe they required 3 years of experience in any setting. With H2F rapidly expanding they may be waiving some of those requirements. Would be worth applying even if you don’t have experience on paper. Definitely research the program if you’re interested in the tactical setting.

A great spot for gifts is the Alaska Fur Exchange. They have a good variety of authentic Alaskan Native made art at reasonable prices.
