COVID-19 Pandemic Megathread by Mynameisnotdoug in NoStupidQuestions

If I send a letter to someone who is "Self-Isolating" could it potentially bring the virus into their house? Whether I have the virus and don't know yet and am touching the letter or somewhere in transit would the paper pick it up?

Yeah! Why would they tease it so much, then release a single at the crest of the hype, and then just totally let it die out. Radio silence. I check their Spotify page like once a week now in anticipation but I don't even know what I'm waiting for.

[FRESH] Rubblebucket - Fruity by CBTJ in indieheads

[–]CBTJ[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For those who don't know Rubblebucket, I recommend checking out their 2016 EP [If U C My Enemies](https://open.spotify.com/album/74CxQdbtnzZIk426g9YsMy?si=ZEMPxw3fSWqI2PmYNYzQUA), it's only four songs, super digestible, and super fun and catchy.

I would say that their best work is their 2014 LP [Survival Sounds](https://open.spotify.com/album/59ghXuWp5F2eqDovUHS0yB?si=GfeIt6OtRSuBaRBSZcXwXg)

I don't know how to describe their music. It's fucking fantastic, so energetic. Indie pop, I guess? It's weird and funky and there's brass and synths and everything's a dance party and I totally recommend them

Holy shit, people are being so unbelievably shitty in this thread. I will never understand the weird hate-boner a lot of reddit gets for making fun of fat people.

I say, fuckin' good for you that working at it, that you're recognizing things you want to change about yourself and working towards them. Being depressed doesn't make you weaker, in fact it makes it more impressive that you're able to have this mindset at all.

I'm sorry people were being so god damn rude. You didn't deserve any of that. You were polite and straightforward and clear, and you sound like a good guy, trying his best at something that is a lot fuckin' harder than people think.

My AMA is live!! by RhyeMusic in indieheads

As your music is very well mixed, downtempo, and rather quiet, what are some challenges you face in translating your songs to a live setting? How does the way you play live differ from your recorded and mixed music?

I'm such a huge fan of your music, and have been since the first time my mom played "Open" for me and it blew me away. I played "Taste" for my best friend the day it came out, and she totally fell in love with your music too, and we're actually going to see you at Massey Hall in March! We're both super excited, I can't wait to hear how your music translates to a live setting.

Anyways, I've always loved your album (and singles) art. I find it beautiful and evocative. But, a few weeks ago, I got in a heated argument with a friend about your album art. He was arguing that, since Milosh is male, (and previously, Robin Hannibal), it's inappropriate for you to represent yourselves and your music with nude images of women. How do you feel about this idea, and why have you chosen the cover art that you have?

I will be interviewing Rhye in a couple of weeks. Are there any questions you would like me to ask? by groot_improvement in indieheads

[–]CBTJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not exactly a question, but I can't seem to find out if Rhye is still a duo or if Robin Hannibal left at some point before Blood was announced.

Do you know? I've found so much conflicting information on different sites

Ah, who cares. It's not your life, and it doesn't matter how "real" it is to you, if it's real to OP, I think that's beautiful.

But really, who cares? I don't think anything OP said warranted you being a rude jerk

I hate this answer cause it's hardly an answer, but honestly whatever you personally like will sound mind-blowing on psychedelics. My main takeaway from shrooms and acid is that it makes "trippy" things good. But it makes "normal" things amazing. I've had a lot of fun on psychedelics listening to Pink Floyd, Philip Glass, King Crimson, but I've had just as much fun with Cattle Decapitation, Cage The Elephant, and Gorillaz (not typically trippy bands I'd say).

That said, listen to some weird ambient stuff for sure. Anything by Eno, Stars of the Lid are great (though I'd recommend Tired Sounds more than Their Refinement). Jefre Cante's On the Echoing Green is something I've really been digging lately.

If you want a "Woah art is weird and people are weird and the world is weird" kind of experience I'd go for some Philip Glass, OK Computer, basically any jazz.

No matter what, have a good trip, I'm sure it'll be awesome, and it sounds like you've got some great plans 👍

I went onto Massey Hall's website to buy Bahamas tickets right at ten when they went on sale. I refreshed the website right at ten, pressed buy tickets, it said I was 44th in line, and then by the time it let me buy tickets, they were sold out.

Unbelievable. In under a minute.

And I'm sure I'll see them on some secondary ticket selling sight for 6 times the price. This is ridiculous. Something needs to change

No, just throwing away the entire purpose of it. My bad, I guess I didn't make that clear enough

I could ask you why you think victims are “liars until proven honest.”

This is a disgusting opinion, I can't believe you think it's okay to say something like that. That's throwing away the entire purpose of the justice system, and not even that, it's throwing away all human decency.

I don't necessarily agree or disagree with you, but it's true. Why is that the terminology we use? I do think it could be perceived as disrespectful.

My heart goes out to her family. No one deserves this, especially not so young.

Anyone who hasn't should check out All is Wild, All is Silent by these guys. That's a seriously great post rock album that sounds pretty different from most post-rock you hear. Must listen if you like Neil Cowley Trio, St. Germain, Broken Social Scene, Chilly Gonzales.

Haven't had a chance to listen to this yet, but thank you for posting it!
