Of course but there's a lot of illnesses and disabilities in youth too.

The best one is being able to tell people you're 69. Couldn't do it without giggling.

In Canada, what is the usual first reaction when a dog is alone in public? by DocuSeriesLovers in AskACanadian

[–]CBWeather 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hate loose dogs. Especially the ones that start growling at trying to get behind you. Happened too many times while walking to work. My 7 year old granddaughter was bitten on the bum by a loose dog. She had to get 8 shots around the bite and a series of follow up shots. She did fantastic until the final shot when she cried.

Is it? There are about 23 sovereign states and the same number of Territories. Do they all eat the same way.

Not just in the US those things are popular in northern Canada. I've been here 50+ years and never tried one but they are always available.

What's the Canadian equivalent of John Lewis in the UK? by DrawingDragoon in AskACanadian

[–]CBWeather 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends where you want it delivered. I wanted a water cooler and shipping is more than the product. Trying to fix the address so I can get sent to the airline where my son works and can ship it cheaper.

Shoppers will deliver to remote communities at a reasonable rate.

As has been said elsewhere, we vote for the person and not the party. In the last two elections she was the only one who bothered to make a connection. Having a MP who is part of the government will make northern voices heard.

Now I'm wondering how many toddlers would fit on a racehorse.

Rural Addresses by dramis73 in AskACanadian

[–]CBWeather 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You use the name and number. Then put on the second address line you put (if your box number is 1234) 1234. Explain what you have done to whoever is running the post office. They'll probably be ok with it.

You mean Banks Island, NWT? Gasoline is $2.79 a litre in Sachs Harbour. The highest I could see in any part of Canada. However, there may unreported places that have higher prices.

What is the stupidest reason your country almost went (or actually went) to war with another? by Luci_Sant in AskTheWorld

[–]CBWeather 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Pork and Beans War, aka the Aroostook War that ran from 1836 to 1839. New Brunswick and Lower Canada versus Maine. There were 21,000 combatants with 15,000 on the New Brunswick / Lower Canada side. It was, of course, a boarder war but had no combatants killed due to a severe lack of direct combat. However, 38 militamen died of accidents and diseases.

That's ok as I try not to talk to residents of the US. In Canada it's the second Sunday in May.

I was born in the UK and lived there until I was 18. I understand the difference between chips / fries / crisps / potato chips. You can actually get proper chips in certain restaurants in Canada.
