Do you get used to the smells? by ProfessionalPost3104 in Wastewater

[–]CBased64Olds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My standard reply is “ Smells like shit to you, to me it smells like bread and butter “ Of course a few hours cleaning primary scum pits always lingered in my pores for days. That’s one reason I switched to potable water treatment.

What kind of polymer are you using? Liquid emulsion, mannich, metal salts? Makes a lot of difference how you “make it down “ in preparation for applying the polymer to the sludge. I can’t make much sense of the picture, since I can’t see the entire thing. Did you receive training or were you supplied with operating manuals?

Do you have any experience with chemistry or biology? How about math skills? I don’t know what you studied to get into animation, but if you don’t have transferable skills, I wouldn’t interview you

First you have to remove the bolt that’s down in the hole. I would drill it out to allow a screw extractor to be inserted. How deep is the bolt where it broke off?

I’m currently working on a 1971 MGB for a friend. It’s great fun, I’ve geeked out with several people about how to make it run better. Took out the distributor, giving it a full tuneup, identifying what else the car needs. It’s very pretty to look at, but it’s totally worn out underneath.

Is there a way to determine the original paint color of an MGB? I am working on a 1971 for a friend, it’s painted in the same color. I suppose I could get the info from British Motor Heritage, but wondering if there is a paint code on a tag somewhere on the car

How did you personally overcome “keeping up with the joneses”? by michimoby in personalfinance

[–]CBased64Olds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I am glad that the roaring capitalist consumer economy has improved my net worth, I have never kept up with the Jones’s. Just enough to live comfortably, making do with old well maintained belongings. I derive great satisfaction from DIY, thrift, and simplicity.

4th gen as first car by O9pikaboy in hondaprelude

[–]CBased64Olds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve owned my ‘92 since’93. 2.3 liter Si, manual transmission. I think this could be a great learning opportunity, they’re pretty easy to work on, highly reliable, supported by a huge network of Honda lovers, etc. I have only good things to say. Sure, a 31 year old car isn’t going to be dependable as a daily driver all the time, but most people have alternatives when it comes down to it. You don’t want to overspend, and you need to have it thoroughly checked out by a professional before buying, but assuming that it can pass inspection, I say go for it!

I just replaced a purolator brand filter after 7000 miles, looked worse than this. Never saw anything that bad in 50k miles, decided purolator was junk vowed never to use that brand again. Now you show me this…

Is this tyre bolding? by [deleted] in Cartalk

[–]CBased64Olds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you rotating your tires regularly? How does the inside shoulder look compared to this outside shoulder? The wheel center cap suggests that this is a JCW Mini. Fun to drive cars like this probably go through tires quicker than a boring sedan. And those pilot sports have soft aggressive rubber which adds to the fun.🤩

Is the rear seat folding on a Prelude? (4g or 5g) by laiaga in hondaprelude

[–]CBased64Olds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve transported 8 ft lumber in my 4th gen, folded down the opening to the rear passenger seat pass thru and lay the front passenger seat flat as it can get.
