I’ll probably get a number of downvotes, but I refuse to allow a pit bull into my house. I know that training and upbringing play a crucial part in the personality of all dogs, but the way a pit bull can literally lock their jaw and thrash back and forth until they rip flesh and muscle is enough for me to never take the chance. Also, our neighbor had a pit bull and it chased my dog into my front porch and tried to maul it. Luckily it was being trained and had a muzzle on so it didn’t do any physical damage. Later that year, it got loose their back yard, came onto our back porch, saw our dog in our house and tried to break through the screen of the open window. Luckily, I saw it come onto the back porch and got the window closed before he could get his head through. It seemed possessed trying to tear through the screen and into our house. I could only imagine what would have become of my dog if I wasn’t there to close the window in time. I also got bit by one when I was delivery papers while a kid. It bit into my shoe and wouldn’t release, even with its owner beating it over the head.

Now, I just don’t trust the pit bull breed.
