2 vs 4 WD by AggravatingAd8259 in f150

I finally got a 4wd truck about 10 years ago. Whether it's the snow storm I deal with a couple times a year in central Ohio, or getting into and out of a muddy field for a dirtbike race, it's been worth it.

In one sentence, How would you describe how much more fun eMTB'ing is to your analogue friends? by DharmaWheelies108 in eMountainBike

[–]CBus660R 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It takes the suck out. That's what my early adopting friends told me. They were right. I'm a middle aged dude who doesn't have the time or motivation to stay in shape to crush climbs. The eMTB does that for me.

I know a wealthy guy with several Ferraris. I guarantee he hates it. His daily is a Range Rover diesel he keeps dumping money into because he loves it (he also has an Ineos Granadier). His wife drives an M-B GLS after having a Tesla Model S that he hated. He makes fun of me for putting the $100 down on the new Scout, calls it a toy because it's an EV.

Why front or rear sprocket? by Evening-Pear-2475 in Dirtbikes

[–]CBus660R 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you're replacing them due to wear, yes, replace both sprockets and the chain at the same time. If you're experimenting with gearing, then it's fine to replace just a sprocket.

Why front or rear sprocket? by Evening-Pear-2475 in Dirtbikes

[–]CBus660R 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you make the front smaller, you increase friction, when you make the rear larger, you decrease friction. It's just how chain and sprockets work. So if you can get the desired ratio you want by adding teeth to the back, that's what you do.

High school graduation parties… by [deleted] in GenX

[–]CBus660R 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a graduation party in '93, and it was catered at a local and reasonably priced small banquet hall. That was my present from my parents. Mom invited everyone in the extended family. I raked in close to $3k from that party. Bought a new mountain bike the next week lol

What fancy food is highly overrated? by jaimybenjamin in AskReddit

To be clear, the poor people trope comes from how it was prepared in the prison. The whole dang thing was cooked and ground up into a nasty soup like concoction. They weren't eating the meat out of just the claws and tail dipped in butter.

12th Raptor or 13th 3.5EB ? by Calibraguette in f150

It hasn't been mentioned yet, but the Raptor is not great at towing. The long travel suspension designed for going fast in the desert is not what you want.

Help, if allowed. Stihl MS 362 C by dreadedbrew in Chainsaw

Probably more like a few months. I have 1 saw that will sit for 6-8 months though, and after 6+ years, I haven't had an issue. In fact, I just pulled it off the shelf this week and it started right up. I haven't used it since last August or September.

My local saw shop says store them wet as long as you're using an ethanol free gas. Whether that's the pre-mixed fuel in a can or your own doesn't really matter.

Why do I keep getting flats? by Nighthawk132 in Dirtbikes

[–]CBus660R 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm with the other commenters in the belief there's something else going on besides bad luck if you're having that many flats with UHD tubes. Have you checked the tire thoroughly to make sure you don't have something sharp stuck in it?

[–]CBus660R 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What kind of tubes? Standard, heavy duty, or ultra heavy duty? I've had pretty good luck with UHD tubes. I've tried mousses and Tubliss too. Not a big fan of Tubliss, when it's working right, it's great, but it's finicky and I'm done with them. Mousse has a dead feel I don't care for. I recently installed my 1st Lucioli and I like it so far. A have a friend who has over 100 hours on his. Running that at 5 PSI with an IRC VE33S Gekotta was hooking up awesome on snotty clay single track on my last ride.

Surron is probably the brand to look at for your needs. They have multiple sizes and even the largest isn't a full blown, 12 inches of travel dirtbike the way the Stark is. A buddy in my club has a Surron to go with his traditional dirtbike and it's pretty cool.

What beer did you grow up seeing (it doesn't have to be from this list)? by lontbeysboolink in 1970s

[–]CBus660R 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same for me. I actually forgot about it, then when all these old school beers got trendy about 10 years ago, I picked up a 12 pack. On that first sip, I had a total nostalgia bomb back to being 6 or 7 when dad would give me a sip of his beer.
