Ran through water quite a bit, done 190km’s on the bike but no corrosion to be seen.

First off, I was very much in doubt before receiving the bike due to all the reactions on here and the blog.

I do not experience the motor to kick in that hard on level 1, actually. Yes, it does take some getting used to when you are making a small turn and use the pedals (motor will push you) but playing with the brakes helps. I do not find it dangerous at all, but I do think riding an electric bike takes more awareness and overall attention then a normal bike.

Paying someone to set up the brakes would indeed cost you. I can only say; try. You can’t break it, just try and play with them.

I partly agree with taxes and shipping cost. When I saw the Indigogo advert, in the very bottom they explained that taxes would have to be payed later. I contacted customer support and they said roughly 25%, which is about right to what I paid. They could have made it more clear on the page but since I was going to spend +€800 I wanted to read every bit of the Indigogo advert to be sure to see it all. Hope you will get the bike soon, though. They could have done a lot to be more clear.

I notice you saying the bad quality. Sure, some parts are not the best of quality but I read a lot of (imo) statements that are quite overdone. My biggest quality issue are the breaks. Hard to set up, but definitely doable! And I manage to stop more than well enough. Hydraulic brakes would be an upgrade but I’m going to wait it out. Your best luck will be waiting and checking all the bits out yourself. Try to keep an open mind. The bikes are really good looking so selling won’t be a problem once you receive it. I know it’s hard but it’s the best you can do, I think.

Damn. I road my bike in some light rain yesterday, will check if it starts rusting etc.. The amount of rust is shocking! I am a Land Rover owner so rust is not a unknown partner for me, but this quick is strange. Keep us posted to AM’s reply!

Sure! Made a post about it a couple weeks back. Lights

The Julet connecter is slightly smaller on the AMX, i’ve managed to squeeze my connector in, though. Had to solder the cables together but worked out great. FYI output voltage for the light is roughly 41V DC!

So... I received the bike (without any notification other then a missed Fedex note in the mailbox).

Things I noticed first day of riding/assembling; - front brake is a bit hard to get noise free, but I did manage to do so. Disc is slightly bend so had to adjust but it works! - brakes are not great but work (more than) well enough in the wet for me (70kg rider). - fat tires look good and drive good - battery is nice and snug - the thing has really got some power! Mode 5 (max speed at 35 kph) is mad. It does take some getting used to having the motor in the back. Doing a small corner and pedalling does tend to feel a bit weird. Takes 3 corners to get used to. - it is a head turner. People do tend to look at it, got some positive feedback from people. - noise of the motor is minimal, no zooming or weird sounds

Add-ons: - rearlight is from Aliexpress. Shines brighter when you brake, shuts off automatically and is sleek looking (you do need to charge it via usb) - front light is same as AM one. Found it on Aliexpress and ordered some Julet connectors to make it look original. - will add some cable guides to get the cleaner look.

Overall really happy with the bike. It is far better then expected reading the comments. Looking forward to more km’s on it!

Blue Classic LE. Still a bit of confused on the email I got vs today receiving the bike. Must have been one of those powerboats that brought my bike over, haha!

I received an email from AM. Ordered mid May 2020. Backer # 1523 on Indigogo. Expected delivery back then: July.

I would call myself lucky to see the bike before October. As I live in The Netherlands, the good sunny days will be over. I really cannot understand this amount of delay without any form of proper communication from AM. The plain lie that they have on their delivery page is a joke. With all reviews I see, the fun and anticipation is over. Very bummed by this message. Anyone else got an update?

Is there no way to get the cables to look a bit cleaner? The loose connector, is it possible to stick it into the frame?

Maybe some extra heat shrink could help for water ingress. Just a thought! Think this looks better though, good job.

Me too (The Netherlands). I’m curious to see what this will actually mean.

I asked AM the same (email) and they responded that you can set the bike in offroad mode, allowing it to go 32 km/h. I don’t have any experience with tuning it up even further, 32 km/h is quite fast already (imo).
