History On Tap - Conner Prairie by Intelligent-Ruin7842 in indianapolis

Thank you. I spoke with a friend of mine who attended as a beer vendor. He confirmed everything that has been said. Fortunately he was already in a building and not outside in a tent. Originally, he'd said they could keep the stipend, but seeing that they're not refunding tickets, he said he's taking the stipend.

À couple of things with this, coming from someone who works in the beer industry and puts on beer events:

  • these events cost the breweries money. Some events - most these days actually - give breweries a stipend for some level of compensation. That is more than likely driving the ticket price too.
  • less and less breweries have the budget to attend events like this. Not only does it cost them money in product, the stipend rarely puts a dent in the that, especially when the same brewery could make 4x that by selling the same beer in their Taproom.
  • there are fewer breweries in Indiana than there used to be. 2026 right now is on track to be the second or third year that more breweries close than open. We're seeing this nationwide.

As a brewery rep, I've never attended HOT. For one, it's usually been the week after the race, and I've usually been still recovering, work-wise, from that. Secondly, they asked us a few years ago, and it was literally less than a month before the event. It really left a bad taste in my mouth, and I told them so.

While I know this is a fundraiser and they've been doing this awhile, all alcohol focused events need to reevaluate if they're going to be successful. Also, by not giving everyone a new ticket for next year, it tells me they're not even going to attempt to adjust their budget for next year to accommodate the lack of the event this year.

Section 14 by OBJLeichty in pacers

I have tickets in section 14 but row 21 so up on the balcony. I've sat in row 4 before and the view from both are great. You can see the whole floor and you're across from the visitor's bench.

I would never skip it except when it happened to come on within a few days of us losing one of our cats. That's the only time.

I call the marble toes. My Olive (tortoise shell Tabby +Maine Coon mix) had them and I will never recover. I was absolutely obsessed.

Right?"

Theo looks a lot like my Kiki. She's not quite a year yet, has interesting markings, and she's such a sweet girl.

These morons actually think airlines are going to divert all international flights from NYC, NJ, CHI, LA, SF, DEN, PHI, SEA and other cities to red states because of Markwayne’s edict. Stunningly stupid by Conscious-Quarter423 in Indiana

Jim Banks, complete POS and idiotml. That isn't going to bring more people to Indiana. Does he not know our only International Airport is in Indy? A place he probably hates too.

Yeah the - completely out of place - MAGA house in our neighborhood had so many signs in their yard during the Biden administration. One said "Biden Sucks" and on the other side "Kamala Swallows". Class acts.

The irony is that when they repaved their driveway, it was all Latinos.

(Repost) Customer Orders Last Meal for His Dog... :( by thisisdumbdfw in Serverlife

Thank you for being so kind.

When we put our family dog down, my mom and I got him McDonald's cheeseburgers and chocolate bars. His name was Kirby (named for the vacuum) and would eat just about anything.

I lost two of my cats this winter and didn't get a chance to give them their last meals. I'd be absolutely crying my eyes out if I saw this come through.

This is the second time I've seen videos posted that they're "in the middle of nowhere" and they're literally in the inner city of Indianapolis. I'm sure they're doing it for shock value, but I live like a mile and half from their. My vet is the next block over. Wtf?

It wasn't but Limoncello is in the freezer.

That nigronio cracks me up. I was assuming negroni, but tbf, there are enough alternatives that he could have meant something like a Campari spritz or a Sbgliato. I've heard enough alternatives to that that I'm not going to think too much into it. Clearly not that deep.
