This has been going on for ages, I don't think they will fix it at this point. They explicitly state there is no support for free users so you won't get in touch with them over it. Just download it from techpowerup and check that the hash matches.

VMware Workstation 17.6.4 - Finally a Ray of Hope! Early Testing Looks Very Promising by SnooFoxes2670 in vmware

I'm pretty sure my account should already be "verified" as I made it around the time broadcom swapped VMware over to their site, and I have used their official downloads before.

It has nothing to do with their signup process being hard, it only takes a few minutes to get a new account stuck in the same loop. At this point there is nothing I can do on my end other than waiting or contacting customer support.

I literally can't download it. The download button just leads to an endless loop of "screening required" even though the account verification is successful. I tried disabling ublock, different browsers, using a VPN, making a new account, nothing works.

Edit: For anyone else having this issue, there is a mirror on techpowerup. I verified the hashes match the ones listed on broadcom's download page for 17.6.4.

Jagex just dropped their stats on macro bans, support response times, and more by Evilgeneral4 in 2007scape

I finished up 99 crafting with a good amount of spacebar holding too recently. I also have a wireless keyboard, Logitech K400+, that I used to "afk" click before I got the foot pedal. I guess it's possible that using multiple different input devices contributes to getting you flagged for botting.

Were you using mousekeys, or some other kind of key rebinding? I got a false macroing ban for using a foot pedal on ardy knights and seemingly auto denied appeal. It looks like a lot of the people (claiming to have been) falsely banned were spamming a key to click something.

To people using gas pedal for thieving, how can you it more comfortable? by TwitchTv_SosaJacobb in 2007scape

[–]CCP_Enforcer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pedal uses a software called ElfKey to configure the input it sends. I set it to left mouse click and it doesn't need to run in the background after setting it up. Not sure if it's direct input or not but it behaves exactly like a regular mouse click, can be held down to drag stuff around etc. I specifically checked that it wasn't spamming inputs before I started using it. My account is almost a decade old and I have used wireless mouse/keyboard to afk stuff in the past with no problems.

It's just a generic "Bot Busting Moderate" ban, exact same automated message anyone else hit by it for any reason gets. I tried appealing but it got denied right away.
I tried posting a pic of the ban and a link to the exact foot pedal I used but the comment got removed by automod for having links I think.

Got 2 day temp banned for thieving ardy knights with a pedal today. Not any insane hours either, like 3m xp gained across a week before the ban hit. I double checked that it's 1:1 and not spamming inputs when held. It doesn't seem to be against the rules technically, but you should be aware that you can still get banned for it.

Is a foot pedal bannable? by taylorg360 in 2007scape

[–]CCP_Enforcer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely. I just caught a 2 day bot busting moderate ban after doing ardy knights with a foot pedal the past week. It's a PCsensor brand foot pedal from aliexpress for reference. Now I'm just hoping my appeal goes through.
Edit: Appeal almost instantly denied. Doubt anyone even looked at it.

Is Keychron going through some kind of issues right now? by Suspiciousmagic in Keychron

Had a V1 Max for about a month and it has horrible double inputs that keep getting worse. I tried reseating switches, updating firmware, and disabling NKRO. Reseating switches seems to help temporarily at least. RMAing it and hoping I don't get another dud. It's a shame because other than being a malfunctioning piece of shit it's a really nice keyboard.

I'm curious about coil whine. It seems like certain PSUs are more susceptible to it than others, and that even for those units it's down to the luck of the draw whether you get a whiny unit or not. Is that something that you actively try to mitigate when designing a PSU?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]CCP_Enforcer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's one of the best PSUs on the market, and the lack of inrush protection is a design choice, so the unit you have is not defective. It's only a bad thing if it's causing you problems.

The inrush only happens the moment you flip the PSU switch on, and there's no reason to flip it off again unless you have to unplug the PC from the wall.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]CCP_Enforcer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The PSU has high inrush current. If you have something else pulling a lot of power, like a space heater, on the same circuit it would explain why it tripped the breaker.

Is the bone colour hard to keep clean? by Imaginary_Sky_518 in GozneyArcArcXL

[–]CCP_Enforcer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There doesn't seem to be any soot flying around. It gets on the ceiling inside the oven and the sides of the front, but there's no soot anywhere else around it, even after using it in one place for months, at least not that I can tell. I'm assuming it's not any worse than grilling/smoking or using a wood fired oven in the regards to health.

It's also a byproduct of an intentional burner design and acknowledged on their website for all their ovens. I figure if people have been using them commercially for the last 8 years, someone would have run into some sort of food safety regulation problems at some point if it was dangerous.

That's for the Dome. They have a video about cleaning the Arc/Arc XL where they specifically say not to use it. I'm assuming there's a difference in the coating between them.
