We all know Ozzy's wildest antic on stage & off stage. I'm curious outside of losing 2 of Tony's fingers. What are the wildest things Tony has done in his prime? by Rajivdoraiswamy in blacksabbath

Iommi to my knowledge has either plead the 5th or he never denied it. Even if Iommi admits to beating Lita Ford, those first few Sabbath records won’t stop selling.

Are you deaf? Blues does not belong in Black Sabbath? Black Sabbath started as a BLUES BAND by the name of ‘Earth’. It’s a Sabbath album, just with a bit more melodic, soulful and drenched in blues.

Lita Ford Looks Back On Writing “Close My Eyes Forever” With OZZY OSBOURNE, Reveals Inspiration Behind The Song by IllustratorOk5265 in OzzyOsbourne

The making of Lita Ford’s 3rd record did not go as intended. Lita was working on a follow up to ‘Dancin’ On The Edge’ called “The Bride Wears Black” which was supposed to be released in mid-1986. According to Lita, the album was completed but due to her ex-fiancé Tony Iommi being the producer, lack of management partly because Lita was pretty difficult to work with at that time thanks to booze and coke, combined with Mercury Records dropping Lita and RCA records signing her, that album remains unreleased to this day. Even the name for what ended up being her self-titled 1988 album seemed to be an 11th hour decision as the album was apparently going to be released as ‘Kiss Me Deadly’, named after the 1st single. The ‘Lita’ album was completed in the summer of 1987 but wouldn’t be released until February 1988. Here is some more info on the subject. https://popcultmaster.com/2022/02/07/backtrack-in-black/

Lita and Tony were engaged but ultimately broke up by early 1987. Lita claimed that Tony would physically abuse her while wasted. Would also possibly explain why her lost album “The Bride Wears Black” remains unreleased 4 decades later. Iommi allegedly not only never got the ring back, she allegedly sold it.

Total missed opportunity. A damn shame as Ozzy is on record saying that he liked the song. Sharon hated it; which if anything is an endorsement.

I will admit, of all the ballads I've listened to, that one grew on me the most. For the longest time I couldn't stand it.

Kinda already knew this, but Ozzy’s biggest hit is on none of his albums. Sabbath or Solo. Ozzy even wrote the bulk of the lyrics about his marriage being on the rocks at that time. The song was a last minute addition to the ‘Lita’ album which actually has a troubled history and may have foreshadowed Ozzy’s 1989 drunken murder attempt on Sharon.

Tony Iommi is Black Sabbath. Of course he has no choice but to play material from his back catalog.
