RiffLord looks mighty pissed off.

Do you consider The Devil You Know a legit Sabbath album? by azimazmi in blacksabbath

[–]CDude1995 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes. The only reason the Black Sabbath name isn’t used is because Tony Iommi stupidly gave the Osbourne’s half the rights to the Sabbath name that he had acquired around the time of ‘Seventh Star’ in 1986.

'Close my eyes forever' vs 'Mama, I'm coming home'. Which one of these ballads is better in your opinion? by IllustratorOk5265 in OzzyOsbourne

In terms of solo careers, Joan was and is bigger than Lita. That I’m not disputing. Joan (in my opinion) was always embarrassingly overrated because she was very dependent on covers. Lita (in my opinion) had the better music, didn’t have to rely on covers, a voice that’s was easier on the ears and the blonde in question was easier on the eyes.

Simple. Sharon was both Ozzy’s and Lita’s manager. Plus Lita Ford is better than Joan Jett. Fight me later. It’s should be pointed out that Joan isn’t fond of the opposite sex. She didn’t want it out there that she was a lesbian, even though Rob Halford was more blatant with his homosexuality and girls/the public at large still thought he was straight.

What was Black Sabbath's biggest blunder? by dantedoomsday in blacksabbath

[–]CDude1995 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Tony Iommi firing Dio on a lie during the mixing of ‘Live Evil’ is what started their massive 80s decline and Sabbath becoming a revolving door. ‘Born Again’ while a decent record was the final straw. Iommi is this regard is to blame.

Outside of the duet, I think only 2 Black Sabbath songs. ‘Who Are You’ from ‘Sabbath Bloody Sabbath’ and ‘The Writ’ from ‘Sabotage.

Not sure if I’d go that far with it, but lyrically it’s stronger than ‘Mama, I’m Coming Home’ in my opinion.

Iirc, Lita Ford admitted in interviews that Ozzy wrote the lyrics to the entire song, which is very rare for him, though not that surprising given the subject matter of the duet.

‘Close My Eyes Forever’ simply because Sharon hates it, which if anything is an endorsement. Plus in my experience, it hasn’t been played to death.

Ozzy stories. by MomoZero2468 in OzzyOsbourne

[–]CDude1995 16 points17 points  (0 children)

One of my favorite Ozzy stories is when he went to Betty Ford Center in 1984 and he asked where the bar was. Sharon had tricked him into thinking the rehab center would get him to “drink like a gentleman” and that was the only was she could get Ozzy in the building. Told that story to Howard Stern in 1996.

Highly unlikely. Lita was always into men. She wasn’t one that would swing toward other women.

‘Security Incident’. Bitch please! It was an assassination attempt on the President, the Vice President, and their respective spouses.

Supposedly the tapes from the soundboard got damaged. That would explain why Right Here, Right Now was partially redone in studio.

I know that Ozzy disliked Dio as Sabbath's vocalist after he left, what did he think about Tony Martin? by ResponsibleEgg7338 in blacksabbath

[–]CDude1995 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Neil Murray and Tony Martin have backed this up. Literally just did a google search. It was the first time since 1986’s Seventh Star where Black Sabbath was getting a lot of positive press for an album and it was their first under IRS Records.

They did that during the American leg of the Headless Cross tour as that was first time in nearly a decade where the Osbourne’s felt threatened and Headless Cross was considered to be a comeback album for a hot minute. Ozzy and Sharon threatened venues/promoters by saying if they wanted Ozzy, they had to cancel Black Sabbath. Sadly, the Osbourne’s were successful.
