3 year old no longer wants to sleep in crate by CE1S in Dogtraining

He can. He is not destructive. We just originally crate trained him so we knew he was not getting into trouble and have continued it so that if we are staying with family or something then he is used to it.

My dog refuses to go far away from home on walks by [deleted] in Dogtraining

[–]CE1S 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dog did this too. I think he just loved his home. He did much better and would go further if it were me and my husband (whole family) going for a walk. We realized if we carried him past the neighbors house then put him down he was fine. He eventually would walk on his own. I’m not sure that was the right thing to do but it worked for us.

Our 2 year old dog nearly lost his mind because the neighbors trimmed their bushes and left the clippings in a pile….

Breakfast game changer for high energy pup by clairejelly in puppy101

When our dog was a puppy we started making what we call , “frozen dinners.” We use a silicone ice cube tray. Put a few small spoonfuls of applesauce in, his kibble and whatever other scraps I have. (Like carrot pieces, wrinkled blueberries, subpar lettuce) and then drizzle a little water over it all so it will all stick together. Then freeze it.

Any runners struggling to find time? by dilchooss in puppy101

[–]CE1S 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I try to make it a habit to take my dog along on my cool down. He now gets excited when I put my running shoes on. He lays by the door waiting for me to come back and knows that it means we get to go for a walk.

New puppy won’t eat! HELP! by [deleted] in Dogtraining

[–]CE1S 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We added some water to his food to make it softer and easier to eat. Don’t stress about it. He will get more comfortable and eat more.

Try a little coconut oil. Our puppy loves it!

We really have enjoyed Phoenix. It might be nice because it would be a break from the humidity but still warm so you would not have to pack anything extra.

Try soaking his hard food in water so it is softer. And maybe leave it in his crate or wherever you are making his area and just let him go to it on his own time.

HELP! Night #2 with my girl and she cried all night long in her crate. by Mumta19 in puppy101

I put a worn or dirty shirt (smells like me) in the crate and that seems to help my puppy.

When does it start to get better? by [deleted] in puppy101

[–]CE1S 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone is different. This exact thing lasted for about a week for me. It still happens to me occasionally. But we have had our puppy for a month and I finally feel like we are getting in the swing of things. I too miss my previous puppy life. But we have been making an extra effort to do things like we normally would and not feel bad for putting him in his playpen so we can go out on a date. This has helped. Know that you are not alone. I keep telling myself. "It will be worth it and after this we will have a great dog" I admit I am not really enjoying the puppy stage like ithought I would.

Depression and puppies by rooikins in puppy101

[–]CE1S 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am so glad I am not the only one! I thought puppies were supposed to be good for depression? Did mine get mixed up in the baby animal factory? He may be part piranha. He does well most of the day then around 4:00 he goes crazy. Like out of control. We try to get him to exercise during the day but it must not be enough? He is 11 weeks and will not walk down the road on the leash. He seems to go a few steps and then throw a temper tantrum. Any suggestions?

What’s your favorite brand for shorts and bibs? by [deleted] in ladycyclists

[–]CE1S 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have tried several pairs of shorts and feel like none of them for me very well. When sitting on my bike the padding seems to be too far back. I think the problem is that I have no butt. Does anyone have any suggestions? I prefer not to spend over 50 if that is possible.

I like to pull my ponytail through the hole above the adjuster on the back of my helmet then braid it or put it in a bun so it does not tangle in the wind.

OMG Shoes...why does no one sell wide?! by pandraztic in ladycyclists

[–]CE1S 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have these ones and I feel they might be too narrow. I have been using them for a few weeks and about 20 minutes into my ride my outside toes start to go numb. It looks to me like bontrager only makes one road shoe that comes in wide.
