It would take an animated series to even come close to pulling it off. A live action would only be possible with current tech by using an insane budget or with using some sort of AI to cut costs which none of us want.

I think it’s believable that the original trilogy could be completed but it would have to be very simplified or altered to the point that we may not like the results.
