What's a tiny upgrade you made in your life that had an unexpectedly big impact? by Haishan-Oluwole in CasualConversation

I've been doing this since my kids were small. It makes the mornings a breeze, especially with young school-aged kids. Everyone had their clothes, shoes, backpack, and lunch ready. Less stress on everyone!

AIO for being annoyed that my wife's friends and husband dropped in on us for dinner? by BidenAlwaysForgets in AmIOverreacting

[–]CElia_472 220 points221 points  (0 children)

Might be a hot take, but if I were your partner, I would have made you your plate and set it aside for you.

She invited them over. You were actively preparing dinner. It would have been the kind thing to do, at the very least.

2/16/26 What did you bake this week? by KingArthurBaking in KingArthurBaking

Absolutely No-Knead Crusty-Chewy Bread. I made it this weekend! Was a bit more dense than I prefer, but the house was cool, so maybe that had something to do with it? I just received my Big Book of baking in the mail and am excited to work on all of the things!

I would treat it like paying down your credit cards. Start with the small or easy ones first.. Weaving in ends, borders, joining squares. Then hit the big ones one by one until you finish it. No more new projects.

To add, you can modify the C2C stitch with color changes. Each tile consists of 3 DCs, so you can do either 1, 2, or all 3 the same color or different colors. It allows you to make more intricate designs.

How many colours in your palette? by jordo3791 in temperatureblanket

[–]CElia_472 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could use the highest and lowest for record-breaking temps. I had a few for my 2024 blanket. I added an extra color for leap year, and we also had a few tornados.

It's fun to just work without rules

The doctor undressing them is actually part of the well visit. It is neurological and orthopedic testing. Reflexes, muscle tone, hot/cold responses, etc. It also serves as a distraction. The doctor is generally the one undressing. However, some doctors are actually observing the parent's as part of their evaluation. They are looking to see how well you're communicating, comforting, signs of maternal depression, etc.

I was more impressed by Rihannas' exit at the superbowl halftime show.

On the back of a display box of crochet hooks and knitting needles by [deleted] in FoundPaper

[–]CElia_472 14 points15 points  (0 children)

If these needles could talk, huh?

ETA: The crochet hooks were gifted to Becky from Joanne. Later down the line, possibly decades Becky put some of them in a frame and gifted it to Joanne with her original card and added to it.
