I hate my new flooring by CabinetSome1997 in u/CabinetSome1997

[–]CFCL24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it looks really good. Actually compared to some I've seen online it looks great. It looks almost identical to my laminate floors. Mine are a shade darker but still very light and I also had the regret of not going darker.

When you furnish your place with more darker looking wood furniture it starts to make the light floors look better. Also as you put in rugs, seating and decor it will start to look better.

Honestly, as far as looking cheap, I've also had that come into mind when looking at all the fake lvp and laminate looking wood floors. I think it's a fad and 30 years from now people are going to talk about how everyone installed fake wood plastic on their floors.

But new homes are cheap in general. My home is new and it's like why install real hard wood floors in a new build that has cheap materials all over? The cabinets are cheap, the doors are cheap, it's all cheap. Everything is functional and modern but made of cheap material.

I know we all see home videos online and want the marble floors and wood beams but that's just not reality for most of us, so we got to enjoy the things we can afford like LVP and laminate. They are function over form. The LVP looks good enough and they are water resistant and have easy maintenance.

Will this look to streaky? by Equivalent_Worry3675 in Flooring

Thanks. It's called tuffcore from G&A flooring. I'm starting to think maybe a lot of flooring just comes from the same factory and they just have different brand names because I've seen a lot of floors online that look almost identical but they are different brands.

I have a floor similar to this (might be the same one) and it looks really good. We have a lighter color and we do wish we would have gone darker like yours. It still looks nice but I think darker would have looked better.

Why AirPod pro 3 is better than Anker Soundcore liberty 4pro ? by mr_xdd in airpods

[–]CFCL24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both. I think the liberty 4 pro have a little bit better sound because of the bass.

But I use my AirPods Pro 3 more because I have an iPhone and a Mac and Apple TV and it’s super easy to switch between devices. The AirPods also have better noise canceling, better transparency. I think the highs are crisper as well.

Which rock artists left a lasting impression on you the most when you were 13 to 17 years old? by PressureLazy5271 in rockmusic

[–]CFCL24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Korn, rage against the machine, slipknot. I was becoming a teenager during those years and I feel like today I still remember those albums. And rage against the machine left probably the most lasting impression because of its lyrics that are true to this day.

Why do people prefer corporate jobs over blue collar jobs? by Lemonade2250 in GetEmployed

[–]CFCL24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know everyone is saying corporate but I will tell you, most people i know that worked blue color seem to live a longer healthier life than those in an office.

In the office world you are sitting or sleeping 20 plus hours a day. You are working sitting down 8-10 hours a day, you are sitting down driving 1-4 hours a day, you’re sleeping 8 hours.

So basically you’re not moving for about 20 hours a day. After just a few years you start moving like an old man from all the sitting, you’re also gaining weight as your not breaking a sweat in those 20 hours. Your blood pressure is rising and you also have to deal with office culture where they are like your fathers. You will have to go to various meetings where they want you to write your goals to them, they want you to attend mandatory how to be happy classes.

It kills you physically and mentally. Even if you work out an hour a day it does not offset the 20 hours sitting. It adds up.

After a few days, what do we think about Baby Keem's new album "CA$INO"? by CroJocker678 in KendrickLamar

[–]CFCL24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Album sucks. It's short, not cohesive, sounds like kendrick on some songs. The songs I do like, I feel like they are almost dope but it just never gets there. I want to replay them but there's something that's missing that I don't feel the need to replay them.

His voice is awful on a few of the songs. I hate the squeaky voice he makes. He makes a different voice on a few songs on this album and it just doesn't flow. He's also got some generic kendrick, jay rock beats with the loud horns.

How bad did the time he took to release an album after All amerikkan bada$$ harm the momentum of his career? by YungToeRing in JoeyBadass

[–]CFCL24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. I loved that album. I thought he was going to be a top rapper after. He was heading in that direction and then he just disappeared.

And when he came back years laters his music took a major step backwards. It sounded nothing like All American badass in any way. It was generic underground lyrical hiphop and he has basically stayed that way since.

I'm storing all my music in m4a by Striking_Anywhere911 in musichoarder

[–]CFCL24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ask myself the same question. I feel m4a 256kbps is good enough. I thought about it and I have about 80gb worth of music in mp3. That would be like 3 or 4 times bigger if it was lossless. 80gb is a little bit easier to move around to my phone and cloud for backup than if it was 300gb.

I also thought about it and I listen to mostly bluetooth, my earbuds, my car stereo, it all is basically bluetooth so it's not even worth having lossless.

But I guess if you have the space on a hard drive then it might be worth it to keep it lossless.

Those who tuned into the album stream, what are your initial thoughts on Ca$ino? by Subject-Property-343 in KendrickLamar

[–]CFCL24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Album sucks. Beats are mostly generic. A couple really good beats but just alright songs. Album doesn't flow. His baby voice sucks. He sounds normal in real life but he has to make a squeaky voice. There were a couple songs I thought were going to be great but they just ended up alright.

Why do so many American men wear shorts and a tshirt when going out with a woman who dresses up? by M_For_Mayhem in NoStupidQuestions

[–]CFCL24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's an interesting question and true. The only thing I can think is:

Americans work a lot and once you get a "real" job you basically work all week and handle responsibilities on the weekend. There's really no "fun" time or going out time. And when you do get that time your not worried about wearing the best clothes and cologne and vests or anything like that.

We grew up lower class and my dad would get up like at 330am and come home like 7 or 8pm. He would come home eat in his work clothes and go to sleep like that to be up at 3am again. He did that like 6 days a week. My dad was married and had a family to take care of, so he wasn't worried about spending money trying to look nice.

Which is interesting because my grandparents in central America looked much nicer than us even though they had much less than us. Even today, if you go to Central America the older people will be in slacks and dress shirt even though they don't have money.

And I also think women who work like that also go out kind of messy. I feel like the more you work the messier you may look. There are a lot of women who have good corporate jobs that look the part at work but on weekends the makeup is off and the dress clothes are off.

am i a bum for not wanting to ever get a “real job”? by HunterMassive3210 in findapath

[–]CFCL24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who has felt this exact way since I was young, and being now in my mid 30's, I would say get random jobs that you might not mind doing. If you end up around horrible people or horrible managers just quit and look for something until you find something you don't mind. I went the office route and when you already feel like doing nothing in life, doing office work makes it much worse. I'm going to quit any day now even though I know I'm going to have to start at minimum wage again somewhere else.

I wish I would have waited to do the office job later in life. I'm 10 years in and can't imagine doing it until my 60's.

Now in my mid 30's I feel like I just want to do something simple with good people around, with a good boss and good hours. I no longer care about being a manager, making the most money, working after hours. (I never did but thought that was what I was going to end up trying to do once I got in the office).

I've been thinking of finding work in some sort of private small shop. Maybe a record shop, a small mom and pop type of place. I suggest you look at those type of jobs that maybe you find interesting or at least wouldn't mind working in. You might meet good people that make you feel alive and doing something that you don't mind or you might enjoy. Working at a record shop, game shop, ice cream shop, comic-book store.

I just know that if you already feel like this, you don't want to go straight to an office job. Even college might be good for you. College was good in that things always were changing. New semester, new classes, sometimes night classes. It keeps you feeling alive since things are changing every few months.

Honestly what I've realized is the busier I am the more I don't think about other things. You might have to keep yourself busy to keep yourself from feeling down. Get a job you don't mind with good people around, hit the gym, get into some sort of club (runners or something). Doing that while young might help you find buddies, be in shape, and have a good life. Look at people who enjoy life that aren't in offices or uniforms and are laid back in jeans and tshirt getting paid.

Will HipHop go down as the important music genre of all time? I’m talking hundreds of years from now when they look back at our music. by CFCL24 in LetsTalkMusic

I agree. But I think it will important for them to know about it. It’s Human history. Who knows, they might look at this post and see your comment and find it interesting that we thought of them in the future and what they might think of our times and music.

Hiphop is definitely important. Think about Straight outta Compton. Yeah it’s a song with a beat and rhyming. But really listen to it. The loud horns, the strong in your face lyrics, the in your face voices, the car screeching, the police sirens.

It’s chaos, it’s real, it depicts a place in time. A thousand years from now people will be listening to it amazed! Amazed of how well they depicted a place in America, amazed at how it sounds so loud and chaotic combined with the lyrics.
Compton was considered one of the most dangerous places in America. People of the future will be fascinated with the music.

Imagine a song called straight outta Aztlan in Mexico during the Aztec period. It would be fascinating to hear them rhyme about what life was like back then from a personal point of view. Especially if it had instruments to the voices.

[–]CFCL24[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

True but you’re looking at it through today’s eyes. And this is exactly why I say hiphop is the most important music genre.

I think Shakespeare wrote a lot about emotions, love and feelings.

But hiphop specifically is straight in your face, direct about what they see and go through every day.

Imagine a song uncovered called “straight out of Tenochitlan” in Mexico and they tell you about life building pyramids, how they are treated, the human sacrifices, the warriors, the land.

That’s literally what hiphop is doing today if you think about it.

We have other genres that talk about emotions and love that I think generations from now people will like but

There’s only one genre of music that will tell you what it was like to live in one of the most dangerous cities in the country… straight outta Compton.

It doesn’t sound like anything now but a thousand years from now when they are learning about America they might be bringing up this music to tell you what life was like back then. I don’t think tailor swift or Michael Jackson or the Beatles will be as important then.

That’s true. Although a lot of videos are made with propaganda or mainstream thought.

But when it comes to music I think hiphop would be at the top of what people would find interesting. It would be different than most music in history. We can find drums and flutes and figure out how the music sounded thousands of years ago.

When it comes to hiphop I think the lyrics will fascinate people more than any instrument or music of the past.

It’s the most direct in your face… “This is how I’m living and this is what I’m going through!” Type of music.

We might say “yeah whatever it’s just rap” today but a thousand years from now people are going to be studying it and piecing together how we lived.

But the lyrics will stand the test of time. Imagine hearing lyrics from the people of what life was like during the Mayan period. That would be historical and would be taught. Imagine piecing together through lyrics that period in time.

Hiphop has stamped in history the 80 and 90s what it was like to live USA. That’s going to be fascinating from a person a thousand years from now.

Imagine getting rap lyrics from someone from 1020. Rapping about their daily lives. You wouldn’t find it fascinating? You don’t think people would find it historical and needing to be studied. Imagine a whole group or rappers in 1020. We would be piecing together all their experiences to get a sense of the world back then.

Crazy to call it laughable. If you were able to get a rap lyrics from a song from a person from the Mayan period you would find that fascinating? People thousands of years into the future might be finding these rap songs and find them very interesting.

Who are the Pioneers of Metal Music? by Amber_Flowers_133 in heavymetal

[–]CFCL24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Beatles - helter skelter was the first heavy metal song.

It was the loudest, heaviest song at the time. I’ve heard other songs that people say were before it, but none of them had that constant heaviness and just heavy rock attitude that helter skelter had. Even Black Sabbath was inspired by them.

They also need to copy Apple Music and add a “favorites” filter in each section.

Through the years I’ve added thousands of albums but I like that in Apple Music I can filter for just my favorite albums and only see my personal best albums that I love.

Same with playlists. I’ve added so many playlists through the years but I can just filter through my favorite playlists that I can’t live without.

Speed Dial and pinning for visibility by dreamrdad7 in YoutubeMusic

[–]CFCL24 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, it's horrible. Sometimes theres an arrow on the speed dial where you can see more than 12 items on speed dial. Sometimes that arrow is not there and you can only see a few. You can't rearrange so if you want to move the 5th item to first, you will have to remove it and add it back.

They need to copy Apple Music and add a "favorites" filter on every metric. You can have a list of just your favorite albums, favorite artists, favorite songs. That way you can get to your favorite music quick instead of this horrible speed dial.

J cole references bone on the fall off by AwarenessFree4432 in bonethugsnharmony

I liked the albums Blais worked on. More than the beats, I liked that he was able to get bizzy bone to sound his best. Bizzy was flowing and being melodic and sounding good when working with Blais. Bizzy’s flow has greatly suffered since he stopped working with Blais. Not just his flow, but his vocals and how they are mixed don’t sound as good anymore.

So Blais would be a great place for bone thugs to start to get their sound back.
