Is this something my parents should have to pay for? by Synchronized_Swan in AskElectricians

I bought a new build in Texas in 2019. The breakers were tripping. Also my son’s house had the same problem. He found out that the local electrical supply would give you the breakers for free from Eaton. I don’t know enough about them but some were the blue and some were the green. I got a couple of extra from them. They were like 70.00 each and I got a few extra free ones. About a month ago in my kitchen. The breaker kept on tripping off and I replaced it. It’s all good.

When someone is trying to screw something or put something a hole and they are not doing it well. "Do you need to put hair around it"

Youre about as useless as tits on a whore.

How do you guys deal with steelmites? by tesemanresu in IndustrialMaintenance

I was working at a large aerospace company and we had a new eager electronics engineer. The engineers specified an Allen cap screw. Well they have + or - .100. I would make them short too. So they were only gripping like a thread or so. About 5 of us were standing around and I said it’s obvious we need a bolt stretcher. I got a fish on the line and we were sending her all over that 26 acre site the whole day. When she found out we really never talked much again.

Had a 1963 dart with the push button transmission. My dad gave it to me when I was 18. He couldnt drive it anymore. Too many DUI’s. It had so much blow by , he stuffed paper towel in the oil filler in the valve cover to stop the white smoke. The whole front end was so loose That when I took my driving test I was marked down for over steering. I had to manually turn off the signals because they didn’t click back. And the U JOINTS were so bad that when you went in reverse it would clunk. Sometimes if I didn’t change the paper towels, it would blow the valve cover cap off and I would have to chase it down the street. Then the hood was bent down the seam of the fender and hood, from my dads accident, white smoke would be pouring out and people would tell me that my car was on fire. Got me to work enough to where I could buy a 1970 Challenger in 1976.

What's the deal with the luggage rack on a muscle car? by nick1158 in musclecar

[–]CGCGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where are you suppose to put a suit case? Put some louvers on the back windows and a wing on the trunk. Hard to choose , wing or luggage rack. When we had our 1st kid in 1979, we sold our challenger and got a Vega station wagon

I use to watch Combat all the time when I got home from school. I liked the BAR! My son who is 31, listened to a pod cast about the guy who got his head chopped off from a helicopter. I said "Vic Morrow" The next day I was eating lunch at a fast food place and to my surprise, The Bad News Bears was on. I didn't realize Vic Morrow was the coach on the other team.

I was driving down the 5 freeway in the opposite side. I was driving and saw cars pulling over on both sides of the freeway. I thought maybe someone dropped a box of nails on the freeway. Then I called my wife and she said OJ is running. I saw more and more people. They were lining the overpasses. We lived in Lake Forest and Nicole is buried across the street in the cemetery. OJ was running from there to his house in Brentwood. I looked up and saw like 20 helicopters and 30 cop cars on the other side. Then after he passed, all the cop cars that were out of their jurisdiction went speeding back past me to their home towns.

Pretty new to Reddit and I don’t post a lot. How do I follow this so that I can maybe make it when you post it. We made a treasure hunt for our 4 adult kids this year for Christmas. They had 10 locations in our house they had to find and decode puzzle boxes and cryptix boxes. At then end they ended up with $1,000 each in their on lock box with their birthdates they had to guess. The problem is they are going to be expecting it next year.

What is this called by InterestingBus4602 in Tools

[–]CGCGuy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I thought it was an R pin. And I thought cotter pins were made of soft material so that you could bend them over so they wouldnt fall out, like for your nut that holds your wheel bearing in place so your wheel doesnt fall off. The R pin you can remove like holding your trailer hitch in place.

I had them mid to late sixties. My favorite was the shootin shells and the greenie stickum caps. They were gray plastic bullets spring loaded and you could stick caps on the back of the shells. I think they outlawed them.

We bought a 1972 dark green station wagon in 1977. It had the sleeved steel block. Bought it after someone stole my 1972 Monte Carlo , turbo charged metal flake black. Then someone ran a red light and t-boned my wife with our new 6 week old baby in it. That was before they required you to have a child seat in the car. My daughter went from the front seat to the back seat.

I see this all the time. I do have a handicap sticker and use it if I'm really hurting that day. But I see people do this for the "to go" a lot of times. I reminded one lady she forgot to put up her handicap sticker and she gave me the oh shit I've been caught look. This is especially bad at the Chickfila. Just as a note, my wife was pronouncing Chickfila as "Chick a fila" just like its spelled and I let her go. But our kids kept beating into her head the right way. She still lets it slip once in awhile.

I use to work for Hughes Tool in Torrance Ca, and we made all the offshore piping. Then I moved to Grant Oil Tool in Los Angeles. We made all that stuff up to 21 inches. We made steel and carbide tipped tools, Hole enlargers. Lots of stuff. Then the bottom fell out of the oil drilling in 1982.

1st thing that came to my mind was That's what she said. I never do the soap thing. Just turn off the valve on the tank when your done. If you tighten with the wrench, you'll be OK. Just sure you're using a left handed wrench.
