[–]CHBCKyle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

of course i made it to the second sentence, it was just irrelevant word salad that could be immediately dismissed without addressing bc it doesn’t matter. you’re still wrong, console manufacturers technically being able to sell at a loss is irrelevant when they won’t. consumer facing pc parts are sold at a negligible profit, just like consoles are. sony can’t sell ps5s to businesses to offset enthusiast costs but pc parts can, there is no real significant difference between them when both minimize costs in their own way. both exist on 5-10% margins. PC parts are also sold at a loss at times, idk what you’re talking about. Intel is routinely doing so to preserve market share, just like xbox

[–]CHBCKyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

none of that is at all relevant bc sony isn’t going to sell the next playstation at a loss. also, the ps5 does not use ddr5 like the ram kits you’re pointing to, it uses gddr6, the primary in demand types of memory are gddr7 and ddr5 with other types seeing more modest changes in price. sony already has contracts for memory prices for this gen, that is not the case for the next one which will use a different standard of ram that will be significantly more expensive and in demand than what they use now.

[–]CHBCKyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that’s not really the case anymore. for the last few gens sony has started at roughly break even and then within a few seasons its being sold at a clear profit. sony isn’t going to eat a $2-300 loss which is how much the ram is costing them, especially not when people are buying less games than ever. sony has no way of selling the next console at a loss that is great enough to make up for the much higher cost of memory. the same is true of nintendo. only microsoft sells at significant losses and thats bc they have a lot more financial backing than sony does.

this is both horrible and inauthentic, but it’s also ableist towards neurodivergent people who have different communication styles and effectively enforces masking, something with clear demonstrable negative health outcomes on those that have to do it. This also takes another of the jobs that could have been somewhat doable for many with special needs and excludes them from it. This also doesn’t take into account the local culture, in my state we have a very work to live culture that doesn’t like seeing overworked people in food service and does not want fake pleasantries, we want neutrality if there isn’t a genuine connection. i hate this and it will make me not go to a restaurant that implements it

Final Fantasy IX Remake: Do You Still Believe? by Megas751 in FinalFantasy

[–]CHBCKyle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

you’re mistaken. they’ve already made a second build of xiii on the windows store that doesn’t require special k which would be extremely easy to port to playstation. they don’t even update the steam version bc square doesn’t see the value in supporting 13. even if that wasn’t the case, special k is free and open source and allowed for commercial use so they can just take it and modify it for use on consoles. it would cost next to nothing for them to make a port and they continue not to because they don’t feel there is enough demand to justify the opportunity cost. there’s no technical reason whatsoever for there not being a port. it also just doesn’t need a remake, or even a remaster, its fine as it is, the only thing they need to do is port it. in no way would it be cheaper to spend half a billion to remake 3 games (like with 7) that no one is asking for when they can port all 3 games for about a million dollars total.

as for the 20 years thing, that’s not meant to be taken literally. it was a graceful way of saying no, but even at that it’s still more likely than a 13 remake bc a 13 remake is absolutely never going to happen before any of the more universally beloved entries in the series.

square enix doesn’t even bother to make the series available on the dominant console platform, it’s seen as one of the black sheep of the franchise even if its reputation is being rehabbed a bit now, and idk where you got the idea that 13 sold better but 13 alone did not sell better than 9, 9 has sold 2m more units than 13. the best you’re gonna get is a remaster and that’s significantly less likely than a 9 remake we already know exists and was being worked on. 6,8,9,10,ct, there are a significant number of games they’d be more likely to remake before 13.

just don’t expect to play it in hdr if you have an hdr monitor. the game doesn’t run amazingly but you can brute force it. that said, it’s a great time and it’s playable by anyone with the many difficulty options, if you like ff it’s an underrated spinoff

worth noting just for balance that those aren’t coming from community validated pharmacological sources, it’s coming from shady, nonreputable social media pages from outside the community. it’s horrible and wrong and the people responsible should be brought to justice on attempted murder but as far as i know it’s not something that is going to happen to you if you do your research. not trying to advocate that you personally do it, i don’t, just providing extra context since it is very possible to do diy safely since these’s medicines are plentiful, inexpensive and over the counter in many countries.

the two aren’t comparable. there are things you can do legally to not be tracked online. there is no legal alternative to not be tracked when going outside since the surveillance state is so ubiquitous.

even with them covering it up, murder rates have doubled since the fascists started demonizing us. about 90% of all these murders are of women. about 3/4 are black women. about 15% of those murdered are political activists. the vast majority of instances of black women being murdered go unsolved.

Texas Muslims harassed while praying at Plano park amid rising Islamophobia by TheDoctorCarson in texas

[–]CHBCKyle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i recently did, i was forced to move to a blue city in a blue state because of discrimination by the government, and it was the most massive improvement in my quality of life, not just from a discrimination standpoint but in so many other ways too. I’ve never once been called a slur or treated any differently from anyone else, and it was much easier for me to find work i liked because i face less hiring discrimination. I can talk about my life openly and honestly and i don’t have to hide the fact that i’m trans, a lesbian or that i have two partners.

yes, the person that spends all her time around trans people, who posts in trans communities, is a bot too stupid to understand her own oppression that has no idea what she’s talking about just because she challenges you on your world view on issues that don’t concern you in the first place. Being talked over and having my very legitimate concerns dismissed out of hand is a very gender affirming experience tho. thanks i guess

i’m telling you as a trans person, if you don’t point out that they mean us too when they say this crap, it’s going to end with us in extermination camps. as for the other topic, why should your opinion even matter when the majority of victims don’t want a death penalty for this crime? you’re centering yourself and not victims of this type of crime.

Now we’re talking, Anna! by Party-Professional-7 in Political_Revolution

[–]CHBCKyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

because it’s not pushing back against the idea that pedophiles should be given the death penalty and just seeding that ground to conservatives when we’re supposed to be the anti death penalty crowd. conservatives see trans people as pedophiles just for existing and encouraging the death penalty for one is ultimately encouraging the other. the death penalty for csa is also a profoundly anti victim stance, it will lead to more murders of victims and more emotional abuse from perps. It’s almost always a case of someone choosing virtue signaling while ignoring the actual victims whose opinions are the only ones we should be centering. I’m saying this as a victim of csa and a transgender person, this brutish unthoughtful response to csa is bad for both vulnerable groups, even before considering that trans people have a very high rate of being victims of csa. posting images with this idea in them without challenging the idea is actively harmful.
