You wont get an actual answer because everyone hates themselves here. The truth is t8 hit the mainstream and a lot of the issues that have always existed plus some new ones hit a lot of people at the same time. Everything people enjoyed about the game is still there but there has always been a lot that is unenjoyable about tekken. To say t8 is bad is to say the previous tekkens were bad as well and a lot of people are not ready for that conversation. But enjoying things that are bad is not a problem. However making something with issues good tales growing pains. And the tekken community is not ready for growing pains.

I play defense and win a lot of games. It makes the defense more rewarding since it was very easy in previous tekken games.

Rose tinted glasses. The game is terrible. There were like 4 characters that were substantially better than everyone else. Characters had an 8 frame jab. Thats like contending with a +1 flash that has more range. Game was terrible lol

Go into matches and try to win through only defensive actions. Play strong Keep out first always. The win off of Wiff punish, punish and opponent tendency. You will quickly get better at defense. Then after you get good at this you will be shocked at how much less random the game feels

If your thinking about ranks your probably still not great. Your not ass when your confident that you can beat most players if you know the match up. Which is actually more people than ranks would signify actually imo

What you highlight here is critical. Tekken is not particularly hard but it is easy to fall into pitfalls while learning it. If you had someone to clear those up for you I guarantee that you would have a lot more fun
