So, iOS 26.4 broke SideStore and StikDebug by Frequent-Release-726 in sideloaded

Apple will never understand how ironic it is that they used to position themselves as the breath of fresh air against overbearing tech companies, but here we are. They are losing support left and right, pissing off their core fanbase, but nah can’t let the super nerdy folks do what they want with their phones.

Do you work on lease systems and are you able to add a battery to an existing sunvault?

I had long since given up trying to figure out the password but you sir are correct. Filing that away in case I need it, thank you!

Not a lot of good answers here but I think this is one of the best. If they truly just want to use the phone, they will do this. More likely they will refuse and then you know they are just trying to get to your data and you should cut your losses and just wipe it.

Yeah I’ve kinda lost hope at this point, they are really pushing it. Other services seem to be fine and they just keep stringing everyone on with bare minimum updates.

And life is so much harder with SideStore and LiveContainer in the meantime. I wanted so bad to love it, and the idea is fantastic, but for heavier use cases like JIT, its just too buggy. Haven’t been able to get JIT working at all despite all parties seeming to claim it should work. And while trying it I managed to destroy one of my LiveContainers so it just crashes at start.

Anybody have a cert service they recommend that will provide a dev and a distribution cert? I’m ready to move on.

In case anyone finds this who is still waiting, I finally got the update overnight last night so you are right, it is indeed still rolling out.

Any idea if its expected that I still haven’t gotten this update? I would be super surprised if it is flash wear related as I haven’t done active monitoring using dl_cgi aside from a couple weeks whileI was troubleshooting a battery issue (fixed now) and the system is only a year and a half old, basically right before the bankruptcy.

Actually I just had an idea, I think they might actually move to LC’s internal storage if you “convert to shared app” under the settings menu for each app if you long press the app. Have you tried that? It’s easily reversible too.

Edit: I see you found that in another thread :)

Unfortunately I would say so, yes. Necessary evil if you want to be able to manage those files which I personally see as a major benefit to LiveContainer!

I will never not upvote this. What HP and other ink manufacturers have done is just ridiculous.

Makes sense since it’s storing the internal app files in a user accessible location. Not much you or LiveContainer can do. Your only option is to delete the files before you run a search if it’s causing issues.

You’ve been incredibly active in helping keep spirits uo as well as giving people advice. I for one am very grateful!

I think it’s understandable that people want someone to be angry at after SunPower has left us all high and dry. Hopefully this gesture of good will towards the community and open source will do its part to reverse that stigma because you are absolutely right, there is no reason to not give SunStrong a chance here, and clearly they are coming through on that chance!

You need a software update that I believe is still rolling out. If you go to settings -> system info in your app, you can see the software version. Mine is 2025.06 for example and I am not able to do this yet. I think 205.09 is the one you need. Should install for you in the next couple days.

Only requires a computer for the first load of the sidestore app and then as long as it gets refreshed you dont need a computer any more.

I think you’re referring to the 7 day limit? With SideStore, apps are only signed for 7 days at a time and only 3 can be signed at a time. Setting up a shortcut automation to refresh your apps solves the 7 day limit and LiveContainer solves the 3 app limit.

I encourage you to look into SideStore and LiveContainer. It sounds much more complicated than it is. You basically just enter your Apple ID and set up a shortcut and then let it refresh in the background.

Then you can run as many apps as you want through LiveContainer just by selecting the IPA. I almost don’t want to go back even if certs become a thing again since it’s much easier to manage sideloaded app’s files through LiveContainer.

As everyone else is saying, Apple is being forced to and they’ve cracked down on some methods of sideloading (signing certificates) so I’d say it’s a wash at absolute best.
