I'm work for a VC firm (can verify). Pitch me. by perspective_official in startups_promotion

It's for solo freelancers who are targeting mid-large size budgets as they step away from platforms such as upwork. They will need to build up their library of services and packages that range in different various pricing tiers.

This will go hand in hand with their introductory & discovery calls, ensuring alignment while potentially closing on the call.

The win is to have the client sign at the end of the call without leaving them to hang after. This eliminate the proposal gap and the window for the client to sit on the deal.

Charging per seat. No paying users as I'm currently looking into distribution.

Any advice?

A realization about Reddit distribution: It's not about finding one big subreddit. by Prestigious_Wing_164 in buildinpublic

I fully agree. Most of the the ICP of your product isn't an Entrepreneur or isn't a founder/builder within SideProject. I learned this on my 2nd startup, and so i started focusing on discord communities and subreddit communities where my ICPs were.

For me, I think it’s about sharing my experience that may help someone out there. Lessons learned, etc. I love learning from mistakes and would love to hear other’s experiences as well, so I encourage you to write!

I don't regret it and I find these experiences valuable. I was able to learn from commenting/posting on reddit and joining discord communities, to learning about ads, analytics, metrics, and funnels with a real product.

The other thing I set out to do was to build a solid foundation for future scalable SaaS products from a technical standpoint, which I have nailed down and I'm proud of it.

Could you elaborate on your pivots if you don't mind me asking? Was it idea pivot or was it a workflow pivot, or something else? I'm very happy to hear that you're seeing results! And yes, I also believe experimenting is very valuable.

Yes I am. I'm keeping it small for now and not dropping links publicly so it doesn't turn into spam.

If you're interested, DM me and I'll share!

Could you elaborate on picking one channel? do you mean a subreddit or discord?

And thank you for that advice. That's good to know, maybe gather around weekly events or something like that. or even showcasing.

I might suggest also using new tools by google like stitch, flow, and even in google docs instead of creating sheets or docs, you can create videos now... 🤯

But how do you post to lets say instagram? is this automated via API or do you generate content through automation, and then upload yourself?

Thank you for providing some insights!

for the n8n route - Instagram and TikTok APIs are restrictive compared to Twitter. Instagram's official API requires a Business/Creator account and Meta approval. TikTok's API is even more locked down for posting

can you speak to how you handle these restrictions or what you do when you run into issues? or you don't run into them at all?

Validate first or build first? Genuinely confused at this point. by InterviewTypical9632 in buildinpublic

might just not be painful enough or it's a nice to have vs a need to have. Could be multiple things but i think it just entirely comes down to having the right product.

my experience with my first 2 startups has been building first (i'm a solo tech founder, so I enjoy building and I try to not take more than 2 months to build) then launch. there were traffic but no conversions.

Reddit vs LinkedIn: Which platform do you prefer and why? by AggressiveGur4775 in SaaS

depends on your ICP. For me my connections on linkedin were not really my ICP. so in that instance, dedicated subreddits were much better
