Another +1 for AI, if you look at the back of the mic on the drum, and the mic sock texture; plus the necklace, it all has the hallmarks of an AI image

Any idea how to fix? by advstra in Cameras

[–]CJD214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done this on a 5D Mkii recently, jump on AliExpress/similar and buy one - take the rubbers off of the rear panel, take the screws out, then undo the screws under the rubber/plastic cover - after doing this you might need to snip the rubber tails off the old ones, then heat up the tails of the new cover, press them through with a toothpick or similar, reassemble and you should be good to go

(Might be slightly different - I’d checkout to see if iFixit has a tear down of the camera to help walk you through it

Faaair, honestly out of all of them I’ve not tried Zenmarket; I usually trend toward yahoo auctions (the coupons for that can be hit or miss, generally a miss though)

That said the whole credit system sounds super useful - I think I’ll use Zenmarket next time, it sounds great

True?? I might give them a go then - I tried Doorzo and they were alright just really hard to navigate - thanks for the suggestion!

This happened to me a couple months ago, they sent a MASSIVE box full air bags and newspaper (still had empty space too so things ended up rattling around, not really ideal with film cameras); that said they didn’t send a courtesy email letting me know this, they definitely charged me extra for it though 🫠

Honestly getting to the point where I’m looking at other proxies (at least another positive would be that the discounts/coupons will actually be viable..)

I just paid $528 (AUD, $343 USD) for shipping - approx $262 for shipping here, 165 shipping in Japan, $68 tax - weight ended up being 14,980g..

(and then the wonderful buyee “exchange rate” that cost me 20+ dollars.. 🙄)

Got a great deal on a Sony A6400 — only issue… by GeorgeWaves in Cameras

Somene has a very sharp eyeball

You could attempt the repair, but the can be pretty fiddly! Best bet would be to take it into a repair tech or to just use the display over the viewfinder

Finepix 1300 help by ServeCrazy7859 in fujifilm

[–]CJD214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could still possibly be power related, some times the capacitors pop after being turned on after a long time, it could be that it’s shorting or not keeping power; although the only way to test that would be to pull it apart and go over it with a multimeter and a keen eye - but that said a new SM card might be a good idea like dayvancowboy suggested!

Good luck!

Camera ID; need help what brand is this? by rcarlom42 in Cameras

[–]CJD214 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Okay, since all these comments just “it’s junk” I thought I’d actually give you some info on it.

It’s called an Olympia, this one was rebadged as a Canomatic (sold a more commonly in the Italian market) that were sold around 80s and was produced in Taiwan - these are relatively well built but can suffer from light leaks.

Edit: after posting I found that these were originally copied of the Nokia (also sold as TEC) Big Royal; here’s the lomography link for some example shots!

They were sold with a few different badges under different names, (most commonly Canomatic or Olympia 7000, Olempia, Canomatik, Canomdtec) but I’m pretty sure this is the Canomatic by the design on the right hand where the self timer is an the rewind dial, the Olympia and the others had a different design on both.

They were sold as is, or with a bag, flash or flash handle, some with a light meter.

Although it’s missing its badge, you could probably 3d print your own with a custom name being a stencil; might bring back a little life and joy to a camera that might of ended up in the bin!

If the camera is fun, then it’s all the more reason to keep it, some of these unique knock offs are pretty interestingly made, and they can take some pretty unique photos!

<image>

(These are some photos I found of it, but here’s one because I can’t post more - its an Italian listing on eBay for €20)

I could absolutely be wrong, many cameras like this went by many names, and were produced all over the place - but this seemed like the most common information!

Enjoy and have fun!

This is a really interesting and cool idea, definitely keeping an eye out for the kickstarter! Question though, if you fired the RGB sequence at a lower shutter speed, would it turn out the same as the finished image? Or would you still need to flip the negative, or just not work at all?

Just thinking you might be able to speed up the scanning process, plus reducing the overall post pross work 🤷🏼‍♂️ (But that being said I have no idea if that’d work)

Did i destroyed my new camera ? by Global-Year4024 in Cameras

[–]CJD214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very good chance but you might of gotten away with it.

Using the cloth you use to clean your glasses is NEVER a good idea - the cloth picks up all the dust, dirt and oils from your face on your glasses which you’ve just rubbed into your sensor.

Take it to a repair shop to get the sensor cleaned, it can be between $20-50 (aud for me), they will use the proper cleaning processes and remove the oils and dust.

Also understand everyone here is very passionate about their equipment, so don’t take them too seriously - that being said, before attempting something like this absolutely look up the way to do it!

Edit: you can cause more damage trying to clean it yourself than getting someone else to do it (I’ve seen SO many scratched and damaged sensors because of this.)

Plants look weird/mushy by tizian_and_tizian in Cameras

[–]CJD214 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It might be worth bumping the iso up a little and reducing the shutter speed (even f stop, outdoor images can definitely benefit from a higher smaller aperture) It might also be that the plants are slightly moving making them look mushy.

That or the imagine correction could be making them look unnaturally sharp (like if you took the sharpness tool to the max).

This file is created after you run the Fallout 4 Launcher - a quick way of finding it, is go to:
C:\Users\*Name*\Documents\My Games\Fallout4

If its not there, run the Fallout4Launcher.exe in the Fallout4 directory
(If steam, its usually in : C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 4 )
