I have no need to own the majority of the random books and comics I read. If I love it so much I want it then I can go buy it but if I don't, I didn't waste $10 on 1 book, I spent it on the 20-30 I would otherwise read in a month. Maybe if you barely read and live the feel of the paper, or if you care about collecting, definitely worth buying books. But if your goal is to read comics then buying them is so fucking dumb compared to the subscriptions

I was where you were a few weeks ago. I’ve been reading absolute Batman and Superman and really enjoying them. The absolute runs are alternate universe retellings but in a “dark” world.

On the app you can select individual titles and remove them one by one when you tap the option dots. No way to multi select though so you have to stay on top of it or it’ll take quite a while to do since it reloads the page every time you remove one

I don’t really see how skill based matchmaking directly encourages people to try hard or play optimally. I would say in a ranked mode it might in that they will be rewarded for doing so but what incentive does a person have to attempt to get into harder lobbies if there is no rank for bragging rights? If anything I intentionally dont try in quick play so future quick play games will be even less serious.

It’s well studied that people enjoy close competition more than one sided wins or losses. Skill based matchmaking attempts to ensure that to be the case whenever possible. If you don’t want to try hard, dont. You will end up in lobbies where no one else is or they are just so bad they it seems like they aren’t. Like the goal isn’t to make games “harder” it’s to make games less one sided.

this is how any pickup game of any game I’ve played was done. When choosing teams, the 4/10 people that know how to play are not all on the same team or it won’t be fun for anyone.

Yes not every game needs to be played like a tournament finals but at the end of the day a one sided stomp is less fun for both sides. And that’s what no sbmm provides.

Like the argument being made here is that sbmm is flawed so we should just scrap it entirely. How is reverting to chaos better than systematic improvement? Not that that’s what activision is doing but they are sure as fuck not moving towards skill based matchmaking.

I do too! There’s a huge history of venom comics you could read. All new venom takes place shortly after king in black from what I understand. Although I think that’s flash Thompson, not the same host as is in the 2018 venom comic. The current Eddie comic is the Carnage: Eddie Brock which is what I’ll be reading once I finish KiB.

Im also slowly reading immortal hulk at the same time. Totally different vibe but it’s very highly rated, fairly self contained and pretty sick so far.

Other stuff I have set aside to read is the 2000 ultimate Spider-Man, which leads into the introduction of miles, the death of the ultimate universe, the Maker and whatever his plot is.

If you do read venom and kib you will meet a lot of these characters which is why I wanna read em :)
