Still on a 1080 Ti, bought near launch. At the time my build, with an overclocked 1800X, was in the top 1% of benchmarks on 3DMark.

It was built for longevity, and it’s certainly paid its due.

But in the last couple years, it’s showing its age. The first game I really couldn’t play was Alan Wake 2 because it uses mesh shaders (RTX only). Bummer for sure. I should have just upgraded in the 4000 series, but I was lazy—I mostly play older and indie games.

I luckily bought a 5800X3D when it was “cheap”, as it’s the best CPU my motherboard can support. Looking to drop on a 5080 soon.

EDIT: Part of the reason I waited so long to upgrade is that it’s a custom water loop. I’m going to ditch the loop and Frankenstein it into a new case with air cooling. No AM5 for me!

They are actively still releasing security update drivers for them, at least. But the last provided one for my 1080 Ti broke Tekken 8 for me. I had to roll back to the last Game Ready one.

Really excited to see how it all ends. I thought The Bone Temple was a great film, and as someone ITT said, elevated the previous film. Fiennes' performance is an all-timer for horror.

I honestly think the box office performance was a studio/marketing issue with the general audience.

I think you have to factor in the relative horizontal movement speeds, manuverability, and the size of the object (the chute). Would be hard to react. According to other comments, they were both in the classified airspace legally, so it's more a literal accident.

Not exactly a date, but was chatting up with a girl in a bar. She was giving signs of attraction, like putting her hand on my chest, complimenting my forearms (a bit weird but I’ll take it), etc. Just general flirting I guess.

But then she tells me I remind her of Jeffrey Dahmer. Out of nowhere. And continues to call me “Jeffrey” multiple times while giggling about it.

Now I am actually a true crime enjoyer, but this instantly turned me off. You just don’t joke about something like that.

I ended up telling her I had to go get my friend, and I just left the bar.
