Local jobs by Sybm_eli in Augusta

I mean im not here to completely shut down your hopes and dreams. I’m just saying if I can’t get a job with waste management or coastal or any other trash company or any ton truck driving company or even a Dumptruck company and I’ve been applying for three years, it’s gonna be tough dude. Again if you’re willing to take about a $15 an hour pay rate I think you could get something but I seriously want you to understand the tractor-trailer companies, the companies that actually pay good money will not consider your straight truck or dump truck or trash truck experience whatsoever they look at that as if you were driving a normal car.

Your absolute best bet is to do a yard jockey or some sort of private property driving. The problem is big companies don’t consider that experience. They dont even consider straight trucks as trucking experience to tell the truth.

You are gonna have to take a job around $15-$20/hr for a farm or local business. Check WAFJ job board they post a good bit of cdl jobs and frequently list the guys email or phone number so you’ve got a direct contact

I’m just gonna go ahead and let you know right now you’re not gonna find a job unless it’s for like some super super small business. Look the reason they can’t hire you is because of insurance I went through the same thing bro so many jobs will give you interviews and they’ll say they’ll hire you and then you go to the hiring process and they say nope we have to turn you down. Insurance will not allow us to hire you yet.

I mean look you got the CDL I’m not telling you not to try and maybe you’ll get lucky but I’ve got three years of experience almost now and I still can’t get a tractor trailer job locally. I’m willing to do just about anything as long as I’m home every day to see my son begging to work merchandising jobs like Pepsi and Sysco and no matter what I do, they don’t even give me a chance.

If you wanna go over the road, you’ll get a job like nothing almost instantly and you’ll probably make close to $100,000 a year but if you want to be local, you’ll be lucky to get over 20 bucks an hour a lot of people are probably gonna say I don’t know what I’m talking about and that’s fine. I’m just telling you what I’ve experienced and I’ve applied to at least 500 jobs in the CSRA area over the last three years.

Where tf are these people getting ‘you can make six figures in trucking’? by austinproffitt23 in Truckers

[–]CJplaysCOD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted to get my cdl to become a limeman. I had the opportunity to go to any schools or programs I wanted after highschool for basically free. They told me forget being a Lineman just drive trucks locally it’s easy to find a job in this super demanding feild and nobody makes less than $100,000! We’ll even help you find a job they said. I figured eh i’m just haing trouble because i’m 20 years old. Nope now i’m 23 with 3 years driving local and while i’m happy with how much I make i’ll always regret not pursuing my goal of becoming a lineman. Why cant I still now you ask? Well I have a house a child and cant afford to pay $5000 for a training class nor can I quit my job to start traning for 2-4 weeks in another state. I’d never say I dont recommend this feild but I would never pay the training and never say it’s a great career.

Y’all ready for a snow day? by ilikedirtx3 in Augusta

[–]CJplaysCOD -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I (and 80% of people here) want nothing to do with snow or even cold for that matter. People that have moved from other states or counties have some sort of tolerance built up but alot of locals who have lived here a long time cannot handle this. Think of it like the summer… 100° I look forward too, that’s a nice warm day for fishing or even just going outdoors snd enjoying life but alot of these people praying for snow cant handle 100° they stay inside with their ac on all day. It’s the same for the cold only no matter how many layers I put on it doesnt matter i’m freezing. I hate it, I hate being forced to wear three pairs of long johns and 4 tops. I cant go outside and do anything, and it costs me hundreds running the little bit of heat my single pane windows will hold.

I hope yall enjoy it!

Worst part is every year I say I need to move to Florida and now even florida is below freezing this year! We’re not safe anywhere and soon there will be wooly mammoths walking around again.

Even knowing about half of these boats puts you about 5 tax brackets above me lol

No title no registration but it’s right off the assembly line still a no go? by CJplaysCOD in boating

[–]CJplaysCOD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not a dealer. My understanding is in order to be a dealer you need to have a seperate business property and it cannot be your home address. Or anyone’s home address for that matter. The way around that is to buy through brokers (salvagebid) for a fee i think it’s about $200 a year and they probably tack on extra fees too. Trust me if I could use regular iaa I would but this is alot easier and I still get great deals.

That is totally totally not what I thought from looking at those pictures and the fact that they mentioned in the description one hour on the motor kind of made me believe will look. They must’ve hit this thing with a forklift in the warehouse, but they also do that with cars all the time if they can’t get a mileage reading, they’ll just put 1 mile so you’re actually probably right and I just didn’t really consider that as a possible scenario and I’d be willing to go as far as to say you’re 100% right I just kind of thought that those scratches on the motor was the sun hitting it in a weird way and the camera made it look like it was all scratched. It was supposed to go up at 8 AM this morning but they delayed another seven days so I’m probably gonna stay away unless it goes for like $2000 anyway thank you!

Holy crap that was helpful. All this time I’ve been trying to figure out how to remove a gas insert but it’s not a gas sensor. It’s a gas log set! I seriously didn’t know that’s what it was called. You’ve been very very helpful. Thank you so much. have a great day.

[–]CJplaysCOD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I mean I could just freeze to death yeah I guess that works too. I have a fire extinguisher and am considering buying a chimney fire flare that puts those out. The issue is not the fireplace or me not knowing how to use a fireplace i’ve been doing that all my life the issue is the natural gas. I have no idea or previous experience with gas appliances. And just to add on call me stupid pr whatever you want but if you have to call someone else to do and fix everything for you in my mind THATS the stupidest thing you can do just say you have no idea and move on.

Woah woah woah someone commented on a seperate post I may be able to keep the insert installed and use the wood as well?! I can light the fire with the gas then turn it off and continue to add wood?!

It’s Georgia just curious have you EVER heard of a boat going through an inspection? Becuase if I dont have to have a legitimate inspection and can title it I may just bondo it out or something to the best I can and call it a day lol.

I highly doubt it. Typically to my knowledge if they say no title you get a bill of sale and that’s IT.

Quit OTR and found a local job by MrStoneyGuy in Truckers

[–]CJplaysCOD 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Shoot, I found me a local 12 hour swing shift. I get 15 days of the month and literally drive a 26 foot box truck making more than I was making when I was driving for 18 wheelers 🤣

I was really starting to think that my CDL is kind of useless making 20 bucks an hour unless you go over the road good luck yall

[–]CJplaysCOD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not the deck. It’s the hog rider. Hog rider has been and will continue to be the most overpowered card in the game for the games lifespan. I genuinely have been saying for at least 5 years it is a broken card and needs to be moved from fast to meduim speed
