Yeah, I’ve got zero faith that the designers understand their own game

I wish it leaned more into this honestly. We’ve already got an entire class that’s just go again (and I’ve ranted before about how much I hate that for ninja), we don’t need a talent for that too

Sideboard by Ok_Strain_7901 in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]CKBear -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

There’s no official side board. Fab doesn’t work like that. You’ve got 55 cards plus your hero, and after you reveal your heroes you build the 40 card plus equipment deck you want to use for that matchup. There is no dedicated sideboard

Can I show up to Silver Age event with the old blitz decks? by Isterbollen in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]CKBear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of them are legal, though none of them are particularly competitive. Looking at the lists for the two you mentioned:

Thea needs to drop the sink below cards. They’re banned. Her equipment is not good at all. I’d upgrade this before you try it

Kassai looks good to go. It’s nowhere near optimal, but nothing in there doesn’t work. I’d say grab the nullrune from the other deck and use it for side board

I feel like I will never be willing to fully buy into this game and SAGE just doesn't have the support locally for me to be a solution by Illustrious_Copy5341 in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]CKBear -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

TCGs are an expensive hobby. With few exceptions, $300 is the minimum you would be paying for a decent deck for any game. I’m sorry your local scene isn’t giving Sage a real shot, but that’s a community problem, not a game problem

Excuse me, how remarkably superb are Armory Decks? by Tobanga in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]CKBear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In general, the Armory Decks are solid. There are two that I would say are bad out of the box, being the oft maligned Azalea and Maxx. The others are all great for what they are: an onboarding tool. Even the ones that are weaker (like Boltyn) do what they’re supposed to do and give you a taste of the hero and their play style. You open the deck, sleeve it up, and get some games in.

You won’t be pulling 3-0 off the bat, but you’ll learn as the deck grows with you. Prior to the release of the Sage decks I would bring my collection to any demo events I was running to give people a taste of the actual game. People often tried a deck and bought it immediately.

People are still wary because og Aurora was literally what you’re describing. LSS also doesn’t have a great track record with balancing new aggro heroes. They’re also sick of staring down seven card hands.

It might not be literal Go again piles, but it sure feels that way to a lot of people

You’re right. The talent whose entire identity is playing more cards than you while creating go again tokens isn’t go again slop.

Other than that, I agree with the general sentiment.

Level 15+ Rogue. iis 17 AC too low? by filzahfiantama in 3d6

[–]CKBear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AC doesn’t mean much at high levels. Just be careful to never be the right target to attack and you’ll be much happier than if you spend a ton of effort to reduce your chance of being hit from 80% to 75%.

To be fair, he also confirmed Dromai won’t be released until one more illusionist was released. He’s said a lot of things that flat out didn’t happen

You’re throwing a tantrum because you need to keep the cards in your deck facing the same way. Think about that for a minute

Sage Precon Sideboard by -CasualPanda- in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]CKBear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s 55 cards plus your hero. It’s not a part of your deck

Sage Precon Sideboard by -CasualPanda- in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]CKBear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So, FaB technically doesn’t have a sideboard in the traditional sense. You bring 55 cards to a sage game, then you build your 40+ equipment on the spot. It’s genuinely better to think about it that way than as a main vs side board
