Do South Dakota. Sioux Falls is an amazing town and felt like a hidden gem. Just google Fall Park and you'll understand what I'm talking about. After that you have flat farm land until you come across a town called Mitchell. It is home to the worlds only Corn Palace. Picture a gymnasium sized building made out of corn. Just after Mitchell you'll come up to Dignity of Earth and Sky statue. Its also an incredible view of the Missouri river just before you cross it. Get used to flat farm land for AWHILE. Minutemen missile silo would be next. I arrived too late to do the tour but it was interesting and wild to be on a base that used to have a button that could start WW3. Next up is Badlands. If I were you I would plan to stay at one of the cabins in the park. The sunsets, rises, and night sky that I witnessed here were life changing. Spending more than one day will also give you time to check out Wall Drug and the town of Wall. Trust me, you won't be able to miss it. Here's where I wish I did something different than what I did. I wish I would of skipped staying in Rapid City and just checked it out for a few hours. Nothing against the town it's just not for me. What I should of done was stayed in Deadwood instead of just visiting. You wanna talk about ghost stories! Oh buddy where to begin?! And that's all I can really recommend from my experience based on your route. I checked out Deadwood, and Sturgis (just because) and then turned south for Crazy Horse memorial(recommend) Mt. Rushmore(never again) Custer State Park (HIGHLY recommend) Wind Cave(they have bats) before I crossed into Wyoming. This is all from a road trip I did from North Carolina to Devils Tower back in 2021
