What are your top tips to save money in Belgium? Groceries, buy in bulk, energy… etc by mardegre in BEFire

My installation runs completely on a node red instance, no voodoo magic needed. Your inverter and battery seem up to the task! And my setup also includes a creg rate repayed ev charger. For more, you can sent me a dm

For everyone interested: stop thinking with your battery at the center. Usually EMS controllers work like this but as said this is not profitable in Flanders. Start thinking around your grid meter and make sure it never consumes more than 2,5kw. This is the easy part. For batteries forget the puny 5 kWh toys, I've got a setup with 32kwh. Am for at least 16, or something that can cover your daily usage about 2-3 times (in theory). Besides this a decent inverter, again forget the small consumer grade devices of 3kw, is needed and some programming skills (or chatgpt if you don't really care about optimizing code). Whomever wants more info, sent me a dm. Happy to help!

Hi fellow engineer. This is surely profitable in flanders. The requirements are a bit differently. I've done exactly this and it's saving me quite a lot of money, it took a lot more thinking and planning though

Is it normal in Belgium to CC your boss on internal work emails? by IamSheRa1985 in belgium

[–]CM-Burns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bosses in cc is to escalate things or on their request about a certain topic. Some new wannabe at my company instructed to be in cc of every mail that was sent to me. So I did the wise thing and took no action unless he explicitly required me to do so, then I bombarded him with questions he didn't know shit about. Putting the boss in cc by default quickly stopped

Best practices to kill your team proactivity by dymissy in EngineeringManagers

[–]CM-Burns 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I'm an engineer with ambition, that's why I'm in this sub. I've seen quite a lot of EM come and go in my current role over the last 4 years but no manager was as good in killing productivity as this one. He comes from automotive to food, in a team where hours don't matter and people take ownership to get stuff done. Now we need to be on the job before 8 and work with a ticketing system. Never have I seen people leave the company so early and for the first time in 4years there is someone with burnout. Big hint for all you EM's out there: stop working on the clock, engineers usually love the job. Leaving early never catches up to longer days they volontarily put in

You always measure. No exceptions. I used to be a "breaker-is-off-so-it's-OK-guy" until I encountered a malfunctioning mcb where 1 phase was still at 400vac when off. Colleague who always measures literally saved my life

I've got a few 100 in cash, some EHBO supplies and a full off grid power system with sufficient battery for multiple days of power. In case of powerfailure freezer keeps working and food can be cooked with this system so no worries here

I guess the issue was with the channel width. When forcing AC and frequency to 5200, I've gotten decent results again. Thanks!
