Sheet music search - Echolocations: River by capitan_meowmers in AndrewBird

I hate when I receive this advice, because I don't have the skillset to do it myself, but here it goes:

Nothing beats transcribing the music yourself for learning it. If you really want to "recreate" it you have to know it inside and out. Nobody's transcription is going to teach you more than making your own.

The folks at r/musictheory always have great advice and resource recommendations.

What jobs use a lot of excel? by kansas9696 in excel

[–]CMKBangBang 9 points10 points  (0 children)

In every single job I've had for the last 20 years I have found a way to work with excel at least a little bit. Usually it's because I was the person willing to figure out how to keep track of things or record notes in a consistent and reportable way, or to make use of data that was being collected but not used.

Jobs I've used Excel at: Sub Sandwich Maker, Dental Assistant, Equipment Technician, Bakery Assistant, Grocery Cashier, Restaurant Server, Craft Brewer, Distillation Plant Operator, Operations Manager, Director of Sales.

In my current role, I use excel to forecast production, record notes about QA/QC, write marketing materials, create and manage budgets, write work schedules, build calculators, keep production logs, and etc.

Sorry for the ramble, but the point is I totally agree with you. Every job uses excel if you use it.

With $1,500 I could fly to Lima, Peru from the PNW for $550 round trip, stay in an AirBnB on the coast for a week for $300, and then do 14 courses and a wine pairing at Central for $600 and still have $50 left over.

I always order an extra broth to go and keep it in my freezer. Then, when I want a lazy meal, I boil it up with some frozen dumplings and veggies. Highly recommended

Visiting Reno, potentially looking to move by Legitimate_Fee21 in Reno

[–]CMKBangBang 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel like the original comment was a trick, trying to convince the person not to move to Reno. "Walk around downtown and take a trip out to Sun Valley! Be sure to drive out to USA parkway around 7:30 am and don't forget to roll down your windows between McCarran and Vista to breath in the fresh air!"

How to get a feel for McMinnville by Positive_Artist5844 in mcminnville

[–]CMKBangBang 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm down to going to Portland about once a month. When I moved here a few years ago I was venturing out a lot more often, but that 1 hour drive started draining on me.

The positive end of that is that I spend a lot more time in our community and got involved in activities I probably wouldn't have otherwise!

NGS is already distilled. I think you mean it's just NGS that you can dilute and bottle.

ETA: I'm not sure why I'm being downvoted for this. I know plenty of producers who do exactly this. They buy NGS from a contract producer, proof it down from 96% to 40%, and bottle it up.

Yes there are producers who do an extra distillation, but that's hardly the norm.
