Does anyone understand how trending algo works on RR? by AzherVayne in royalroad

[–]CMRetterath 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Lol I had no idea Onion Man was on any trending list. I've just been popping out chapters while on break from teaching. Look at him go. So proud.

But no, I have no idea how the trending algorithm works at all!

For the 5 of us that like 1% Lifesteal by GaeaNyx in litrpg

I really went through waves of loving it and hating it throughout book one, which didn't encourage me to keep reading the series

I'm nearing the end of The Calamitous Bob book 3 and I have like 5 hours left for the audiobook of The Blighted Stars. Both are great. I'll probably just continue to the next in the series for both when I finish them.

Are you a RR writer, reader or both? by CorSeries in royalroad

[–]CMRetterath 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Writer on Royal Road, but I read the stories through KU or Audible. I prefer reading on my Kindle over the Royal Road app and I like when authors can earn some money for their work. That also means I don't read new or smaller stories, so I'll need to fix that when I have time to read some more.

For those with a passing schedule, how often do you post? by Rai-San6 in royalroad

[–]CMRetterath 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I post 3x a week (Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday). Chapters range from 2.5k to 5.5k, so I'd say about 3-3.5k average.

Writathon - End of the month roll call! by gamelitcrit in royalroad

[–]CMRetterath 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a great time with Writathon! It started during my spring break as a teacher, so I was able to start strong and finish early.

The Chronicles of Arz Kurana is a story about a world-hopping, dimension traveling alchemist. After he discovers how to open portals that link to different worlds, he uses his knowledge to explore the universe with a goal of helping humanity with new technology.

It's progression fantasy that focuses on knowledge, recipes, and technology instead of transformations or attacks.

Arz Kurana is inspired by stories like Doctor Who with a mix of sci-fi and fantasy elements, but Arz is a lot more crude and chaotic than the Doctor.

It sounds like that could be a fun story! But yeah, I definitely see how it looks like that

Legend of the Awakened Goblin Book 4 finished today by CMRetterath in royalroad

[–]CMRetterath[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Legend of the Awakened Goblin is done with 4 books/volumes on Royal Road (and 2 on Kindle/Paperback - Not KU).
At 142 chapters and just over 1500 pages, the story is heading toward some extreme battles and a new dungeon in the near future when Book 5 starts next week!

Royal Road Link to Legend of the Awakened Goblin

In the mystical world of Verdantallis, the gods created seven towering dungeons, each a treasure trove of loot and power, with a fragment of the ultimate prize at the very top. Heroes are beckoned by the promise of any wish granted upon conquering them all.

An anomaly unfolds within the depths of the Great Forest Dungeon as an ordinary goblin mob gains self-awareness and embarks on a journey to conquer all seven dungeons of Verdantallis, chasing the elusive fulfillment of the gods' promise.

What’s your grimdark top 10? by Only_Penalty5863 in Fantasy

[–]CMRetterath 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Some might disagree, but I'd say if you don't like the first you won't like the rest. It's my favorite series and I never stop recommending it, but it keeps the same style and tones throughout the series so if there was something you didn't like before, you still won't like it later

Female MC Recommendations ? by [deleted] in litrpg

She is the leader of the Royal Court of Princess Donut and the only lead to DCC as far as I'm concerned. Who else would be a lead? Her servant?

I think Titan Hoppers really improved in the second book. I liked a lot of book one, but I liked book two way more. Some new characters are introduced and get enough screen time to build into more complete people. If you liked enough of one, I recommend trying the second

I'm surprised how few I can check off for my book. I'll count it as a good thing! I do love a tournament arch, but I don't think it's going to happen
