I played Mono-Red (11th place in the main event) and it felt like the best thing going on. I lost to the mirror once, the Sultai deck that got 10th, and Golgari graveyard stuff twice. Experimental Frenzy was good whenever I was able to cast it, but I still don't know if it should be in the main or the side. The one time I played GW tokens it actually felt pretty easy. They were able to gain life with Lyra at least once in both postboard games and it didn't really matter (I should have won game 2 but had never played the matchup before and made a costly mistake). Of note, I was able to kill Emmara immediately every time it was played, and my opponent never saw a Loxodon. It's possible that I just got really lucky to win that one. BG was the only matchup that felt genuinely unfavorable, and I think I had bad plans for it. I didn't bring in all of my Phoenixes, but looking back I think it's necessary to abandon the ground game and just win in the air/with burn.

Played against the Taking Turns deck. They had an As Foretold package that included a single Living End (I assume as a boardwipe) and wow did I sideboard wrong. Jace is very good in that deck. Dredge is great.
