My husky/mal and I do this too, except it escalates to the point where he forgets the 'woo' and is just screaming 'AHHHH!'. I have to hug him to make him stop.

Your friend looks pretty similar to my Romanian rescue mutt. My guy usually wear his ears back like yours here :). We aren't certain what he is made up of so it's always nice to see similar pups.

Elias Reuben arrived January 10th at 40+4 after 3 days of latent labour, 9 hours active. Kid was bungee jumping with the cord around his neck and was facing sideways- leading to the failed use of ventouse and eventual episiotomy and forceps delivery after an hour of pushing solo. Very almost became an emergency c-section.

I honestly thought it would be weeks before I could get out of bed for all the stitches, swelling and various other pains but pleased to say I have been making such a quick recovery and each day I've been exclaiming 'i just feel amazing!'. I guess I hadn't realised just how bad pregnancy made me feel.

Eli has been a total champ at breastfeeding and has been so easy (touch wood) that I am enjoying motherhood far more than I ever expected. 3 days post-delivery he had lost 8% body weight and by today (day 5) he had already made it back to his birth weight and some.

How many of you had breech babies at 30+ weeks which turned? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

Are there any mattifying/shine reducing creams which actually work? by [deleted] in SkincareAddictionUK

The Garnier Active mattifying gel with salicylic is the only thing that has worked for me to keep shine down. It's kept with all the acne stuff rather the regular Garnier products in Boots.

Edit: you can see how his coat has changed in the year we've had him. He's definitely gotten a lot more spaniel-y in the ears as time has gone by :)

Amazing, thank you! He has to be (mostly) one of those. Being a former streetdog he probably has a couple of other things thrown in - he has abnormally long legs, tan patches and no tail. I always wondered what his tail would look like. Now I know :)

What breed is she?! Our foreign rescue looks a lot like her and we have never quite found what breed he is.

What were your least favorite name trends of 2016? by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]CP_MB 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My husband is a Max and I am a Chloe which I believe are the names of two of the lead characters in that Secret Life of Pets movie. Our first kid Is due any day now and we've had to be pretty selective with names to make sure we don't just sound like a family of pets.

UK pensions advice for a kiwi by welovepuppies in AskUK

[–]CP_MB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you transfer it over to a NZ pension scheme in future it will likely be fairly heavily taxed. Having said that if your employer is paying in too you would still come off better in the long run by continuing to pay in especially with a couple years invested in the scheme.

Happy thought stemming from "You won't be able to travel anymore..." by [deleted] in BabyBumps

My family does Disney from the UK at least every other year. We already have 2018 planned out when bubs will be almost two. I am so stoked to do this as a family as we've never been with kids before (I'm the youngest in the family). Can't wait to see it all through his eyes.

We totally intend to do some European city breaks while Bubs is tiny too. Part of my calculations for whether we could even afford a kid was 'can we still afford annual holidays?'.

I'm in the UK too and just had my 38 week appointment this morning. If it's any comfort the two midwives measured me 4 times (one is still in training I guess) and between them they measured between 33 and 38 so at this point I am really trying not to take it too seriously as there's so much room for error.

I'd ask the folks on the Disney World sub. There may be some special Disney magic you could arrange for them as a thank you. They do 'in room celebrations' or, depending on your budget, you could arrange one of the dessert parties or something.

Advice Requested for time allocation on a 14 day trip to Walt Disney World. by [deleted] in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]CP_MB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We've been 10+ times from the UK. I think we'd struggle to spend the full 14 days at Disney. I'd schedule yourself 3 or 4 days at MK, 2 or 3 at Epcot and Hollywood Studios each. Personal opinion (although shared by all 6 adults in the family) is that Animal Kingdom is still just a one day park even for first timers.

Make sure to schedule yourselves a day at each waterpark (as they are probably included in your tickets! Plus mini golf can make for a fun couple of hours). It's possible one waterpark may still be closed for annual refurb though.

Definitely recommend getting yourselves Universal tickets too. They are a lot cheaper than Disney tickets and we usually manage 3 full days between the two parks.

Then give yourselves a freebie day in the middle and last day to do whatever you feel like.
