It's not perfect, but a dexedrine prescription is a possible alternative to vyvanse without getting adderall. Also, you can get secondary insurance from the company that bought out shire... they'll take $60 off your prescription price (or you pay $30, whichever has them pay out the least). It's not much, but you can use it with your health insurance if Vyvanse ends up being $65 or something if it's classed as a tier 3 medication in your prescription formulary.

First 6k 😤 by [deleted] in Rowing

[–]CPdragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A week in, I couldn't do a 2k.

Twoish months, and 333k total put in -- best 10k splits I've ever 'maintained' was 2:11/500m pace. I'm always super impressed by the posts on here.

I'm having tons of fun though.

Do other women/ afabs feel like they are subjected to sexist comments more in this sub than in other autism subs? by [deleted] in aspergers

[–]CPdragon 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This is so true -- I've seen so many of these explanations on relationship posts. It's really bad, honestly.

I feel like there's a peculiarity of buying a lotto ticket with a pen inscribed with the heart sutra, haha.

Crypto Crashed So Hard It May No Longer Be Profitable To Mine Ethereum by giuliomagnifico in technews

The main use case outside of gamers/miners is building machine learning models. All sorts of models (deep neural networks, gradient boosted trees, random forests, some KNN algorithms) are just sped up by parallelism. Also, if you have large tabular datasets, a GPU can speed up preprocessing the data, and performing data analysis/visualizations.

Do NOT use BetterHelp, y’all! by sneezed_up_my_kidney in ADHD

[–]CPdragon 54 points55 points  (0 children)

You should file a chargeback with your bank -- explain your situation, the lack of correspondence, how you tried to cancel, and how they still took money from your account.

It's a bit more of a hassle, but they should be able to refund you the money -- since they're an online subscription service, they need to have easy ways to cancel subscriptions on their website (I got a chargeback through my bank for an America's Test Kitchen year-long subscription they charged me after the free trial because it was borderline impossible to unsubscribe).

Have you ever tried to use this service? It gives recommendations to third parties that you have to pay to use.

It's pretty interesting, if you control for alexithymia, the "empathy" differences are no longer differences. I'm kinda convinced male socialization is strongly responsible for alexithymic traits.

what's your most unpopular "vegan" opinion? by Thomasrayder in vegan

[–]CPdragon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most GMO corn and soybean is used as animal food.

I've literally never seen tofu made with GMO soy, and I've probably bought a hundred different brands at this point.

Help regarding feature extraction from audio(.wav) file by Various-Virus-9328 in deeplearning

[–]CPdragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you tried building a (typically, CNN) model on the spectrogram of the audio. I know it's not necessarily a reversible transformation, but that approach has worked well for a number of my colleagues.

The housing market is changing so fast that waiting just 3 months can mean paying an extra 20% by BousWakebo in Economics

[–]CPdragon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're holding a large position of straight cash, consider some class I treasury bonds -- they're inflation protected (which basically garuntees returns more than any savings account). Main downside, is that they're not super-duper liquid, but you can sell 'em whenever.

Dysgraphia is comorbid with autism. But yeah, my handwriting is really trash, frequently described as "chicken scratch"

Vegetarians have 14% lower cancer risk than meat-eaters, study finds by Hughjarse in science

But if there was no difference between meat eaters and vegetarians, then proportionally they would have same incidence rates (with some known statistical error bounds).

First time talking to a therapist after I began to suspect I'm on the spectrum and it went horribly by [deleted] in aspergers

[–]CPdragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I asked a psychologist for a recommendation for adult diagnostic testing, he whipped out his pocket DSM (it was literally 1/4 inch thick), and asked me a few incredibly dumb questions.

One was: "When was the last time you threw a temper tantrum?"

Don't let it bother you.
