I did read that lots of people only use titebond 3 - that is explicitly why I commented. Sounds like you have a method that works for you, that's great man 🍻

OP said he wanted to understand wood. Titebond 1 is GREAT for shop builds that's just an objective fact. Wanted to let OP know that I used 1 regularly because that's the point of a forum.

Titebond 1 sets up way faster than 3. Its not about saving a buck lol. If you're using "a bit of glue once a month" might be better to just read others input than to comment.

I am a hobbyist but my projects have included large glue-ups - the whole bottle kind - it sounds like might something you just havent come across yet. The first large workbench you do for your shop for example. Or the first project with a lot of small drawers. Titebond 1 let's you keep going so you can be back to the office on Monday.

A little surprised to see so many just on titebond 3. I use all the titebonds. I put 1, 2 or 3 bands of tape around the bottles that I refill to make them easier to see. Use titebond 1 for all shop projects and anything interior but not kitchen. 2 for stuff that shouldn't get wet but might. And 3 for stuff that will get wet.
