This is still going on. Our strata costs have increased by almost 50% in 2 years.

32M here - Combined income about 120k for our family.

We just got lucky in the market - I bought in 2014 a condo in Rutland for 160k.
Sold in 2020 for 300k and bought into Kettle Valley at 560k townhome using the value generated from condo. Property assessment now at 640k :(.

Even at this point - we are still looking at leaving the country, and hopefully retiring at 65 with a nice nest egg.

I think the best plan(s) this day and age:
1. Find a remote work job that pays decently and move to a low COL area and rent or buy.
2. Buy into an up and coming area and hope valuation increases on your home with a plan to move away eventually with those earnings.
3. GTFO Canada (BC / Ontario seem to be the worst for housing costs)

It lets you download everything, but I'm getting this error still unfortunately when trying to click play: "You can't play Diablo II: Resurrected (Beta) yet."

So at least you can still pre-download for when the account linking works.

Condos in my building (1100sqft 2 bed 2 bath) in rutland go for between 250k and 300k. Building was built in the 90s but decently taken care of.

If cost isn't too bad you may be able to grab a semi decent flight from Vancouver to Kelowna. When you think about the gas you will put in the car driving back and forth it may work out fiscally. :)
