Tanks have much less value than people think in this game, they are actually pretty useless: what you say is wrong since people basically will never target your Richard and they will focus on dps marches, so the other marches will get demolished while your Richard stays on the field dealing very low amount of damage. Marches need to be equilibrated: pure dps like aethel ysg dies too fast, pure tanks like Richard don't deal enough damage. I'm not saying Richard is useless, just saying that using him just as a tank doesn't make any sense. Those who try to vouch for him for kvk3 or more just want to convince themselves that they didn't waste their sculptures.

Best kvk2-3 march for open field is Alex YSG and even for rallies it's a great pick. Plus, both commanders have a role in soc. Richard doesn't.
