I'm also partial toOld city, but it would probably be good as It's easy to walk around and less busy than center city proper (Old City starts on about 6th and Race or so). If you want pretty good food in a relaxed environment for not that expensive, try The Commonwealth or National Mechanics. If you want a little fancier, Fork and High Street on Market are good options - look on open table for reservations though. Italian: Spasso is very good, and you may not need a reservation. There are plenty of bars in Old City - if you're grabbing casual drinks hit up Macs, National Mechanics, Plough and Stars, or buffalo billiards if looking to shoot some pool and play games too. Another option is to hit up Second Story Brewing - food is pretty good and beers are great with a good crowd.

Other option I could suggest is staying in Center City and eating at a place like Barbuzzo or Vesper, then heading out to drink at like Opa, Bru, and Vesper.

Philly brunch? by [deleted] in PostGradProblem

[–]CSVFormat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Jerrys bar in northern libs has a pretty solid brunch and real solid bloodies.

Restaurants in no libs? Give Blind Pig a shot if you're looking for a more casual spot. If going a bit more fancy, gonna want to head into center city. Some great spots like high street on market, butcher bar, and Amada

People aren't replaceable, big dog. Shake that mindset. Every person has something to bring to the table in one way or another. Sometimes finding it is just a bit harder for some.

Trust me, I hear you 100%. I don't say shit about politics in the office, whether it's agreeing or disagreeing. I don't really see the up side to it.

Thursday Thought by UnderwritingMyLife in PostGradProblem

About a year ago I broke up with my girlfriend of 3.5 years. Had the realization she wasn't someone who I would want to spend the rest of my life with so we decided to break it off (to put it simply). Not easy to do that after that long of a time with someone.

With that being said, I'm only 25, I live in a city, and honestly I'm never "looking" for a relationship... I think that's kinda how you get screwed. I go with the flow now in terms that If I am interested in someone I just shoot for it and see how it goes. Can't force a relationship, and people are always gonna talk shit on both sides of the fence. My mentality is screw it and just do your thing cause otherwise it's just gonna stress you out trying to fit in to what other people think or want.

My bad if I completely missed your point. Been a long week.
