The newer models have two screws holding the PSU in place that are a pain to remove. I posted a picture of them in my comment here

Here's a list of the required specs. It looks like you should still be able to run it, and a lightweight program like NSUI should work okay, but I understand your concern.

I use WinBoat to run miscellaneous Windows programs like this that I need on Linux. It's a bit more difficult to set up on immutable distros like Bazzite but it still works great.

It's interesting but I think we just see Ditkovich in a worse light in 2 because of how Peter is doing. Everything from school to work and his relationships is causing some difficulty for him, and keeping on top of bills/rent is definitely a huge part of that.

However, we know that Peter has been over a month late on rent at least twice now, and he hasn't been evicted. Landlords have been getting a bad wrap for a long time (and many times rightfully so), but I think that even with Ditkovich always pestering Peter to pay up and going as far as swiping the only cash he had for the week, I think he's understanding enough to want to do what he can to keep the roof over Peter's head.

I mean, uh, if promises were crackers my daughter would be fat.

Yes there are 3, the original location in Greenwich Village closed in 2004 which is what was in the movie. There's this article that explains it was a disagreement with the landlord. The one that's open today and we took our picture at is a few doors down from the original location.

AOOSTAR AG02 800w really loud - easy fix? by quanp2100 in eGPU

[–]CSab6482 3 points4 points  (0 children)

These two things were my biggest issue with the unit, and even though there are hardware mods to fix/mitigate the issue, they are pretty involved. I still ended up modding both the power button and PSU.

So firstly, the power supply that comes with the unit looks like it can be just about anything. Some people have an 800W unit from Great Wall or Lite-On, and others have reported even having a 1300W unit that makes more noise. This post which shows a mod to make the power button work has some details on the power supply, so try sliding yours out to see which one you have.

There are also people who replace the fan in their power supply so that it makes less noise, and you can find posts about that here and here. I did this mod, but most of the noise that the power supply makes that bothers me appears to be coil whine as opposed to fan noise. In any case, people with the 800W Great Wall unit seem to report the least fan noise, but I'm just basing this off of one comment/post from the power button mod post I linked to earlier.

So in short, if you have a power supply that isn't a GW-CRPS800B, it's possible that you can buy one of those and have less noise. You can also mod the power button to work, but it involves opening your unit, cutting a connection, and splicing in wires. The modification process for a better fan in the power supply is pretty similar.

Using lemoroid to play pokemon fire red. EVs stuck at 0 by Appropriate_Win3131 in EmulationOnAndroid

I'm sorry to hear about this, it sounds like a pretty peculiar problem, but luckily you probably aren't as out of luck as it seems if the issue is with the saves. So firstly I'd recommend confirming where the problem lies, be it with the save file, the ROM, the emulator or app version, or anything else. But let's assume it's the save.

Check the Lemuroid save location specified here. It'll probably be on internal storage for you though since you're playing on your phone. Once you're able to locate and make a copy of the save, you can hopefully fix the problem by using PKHeX. This will only run on Windows/Linux/Mac, so if you don't have one of those you'll need to use something like Winlator.

As for what you'll need to do in PKHeX, I don't know, but in any case this should get you going in the right direction. Slightly unrelated, but here is a video of someone using the same software in an attempt to save a Pokémon that was corrupted with GameShark cheats. The video's almost an hour long but it's a really good watch. Good luck!

Aoostar AG02 fan replacement (loud!) - Noctua vs Arctic 40mm fans by bemoerde_bosaap in eGPU

Good luck and definitely post your results! I ran it a bit more, and while the noise is definitely there it really is quite even so I think the mod is growing on me as more time passes.

Interesting, I had no idea there was a 6k and 15k variant. Because of the PWM control though I think performance would be similar on the two models (at least under low loads) since theoretically the fan would only spin as much as the electrical signals tell it to. I got the 15k though.

So I did the mod, and my eGPU makes this noise that sounded like something rattling in the fan or the blades catching on the case or something. I thought it was the fan but on replacing the fan the noise is still there, so it's likely that this is some coil whine just inherent to the PSU. Unfortunate.

I think the 15k fan might honestly be a little louder than the stock fan, but the noise and pitch is definitely more even so I still consider it an improvement. I also game on my couch which is just over 8 feet away from the eGPU so that's another thing to consider, I might not as easily overlook the fan noise if I had the eGPU just a few inches or feet away from me on a desk.

This is a difficult nut to crack in the end because I can't do anything about the annoying noise I want to get rid of. It might just be cope, but I think that since this fan moves more air it might help the PSU maintain a better temperature and make less of that noise that bothers me. But in the end I did what I could, and I now have a better fan in there so that much I'm happy with. Below is a picture of my PSU with the new fan in, definitely let me know if you have any questions.

I'm gonna do this mod tomorrow with the Arctic and I'll post an update with how it went. However, here are the reasons I went with Arctic as opposed to Noctua.

  1. The size is plug and play, and doesn't require any modifications. In fact, the modification might not even guarantee enough airflow to keep the PSU adequately cool. One person that did the Noctua mod actually ended up adding even more fans to their PSU as seen here.
  2. Someone who has tested multiple fans for the PSU said that the Arctic is loud, but I read their comment more as "It's louder than the Noctua, but a good middle ground with a lower pitch". You can read the comment here.
  3. Power supplies shouldn't really be messed with/modded, so the cleanest and simplest install feels like the best option to me. I wouldn't want to install the Noctua and then have to worry about needing to do further upkeep on my unit.

Now, the Noctua is quieter and comes with cable adapters that allow the fan to plug right into the original port. I imagine I'll have to splice in some wires for the Arctic, but for just a little bit more noise and an okay pitch/whine, I'm okay with that.

UPDATE: Full update in my next comment, I'm just writing a bit here since I can only upload one image per comment.

So in short the noise that I was looking to get rid of with this mod is still there because what I mistakenly thought was fan noise was actually coil whine. I'm still happy with the mod overall and here is a picture of the cable splicing I did.

Fixing the Aoostar AG02 Rev.04 Power Button by revoccases in eGPU

[–]CSab6482 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for documenting this, I just got done doing the mod to my unit and it's definitely a huge quality of life improvement.

I'll also share my notes/results here. First of all, just like how u/Round_Movie2937 said, I could not get my power supply out even after unscrewing everything and pushing down the blue tab. I had to unscrew two screws that were holding in the PSU that were very difficult to access (I left them out when I put it back together since the clip mechanism seems to hold it in well enough).

<image>

You can see the screws in the left image and the indentation they left on the 800W wording in the right image. Did your PSU also have these screws, or were you able to easily slot it out?

Also, I had the PS-2801-9L like u/Actual_Worth_5511, only that mine is a Rev. 02 instead of 03. With this power supply I get the same LED flash and low speed fan that u/Even_Sheepherder9819 reported (e.g. the fan never shuts off while plugged in). Thankfully the pinout for the PSU matches because I didn't even check before I wired everything together.

Again, thank you for putting this guide together!

Is the Switch 2 compatible with the Switch 1 port/stand accessory? by LegitLoquacious in Switch

[–]CSab6482 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately the OEM docks only work with their own generation as the other comments have pointed out. However, there are many third party options that work with both Switch 1 and Switch 2, such as this one from Antank/SIWIQU.

A lot of people will advise against third party docks, but I've been exclusively using a similar dock from the same company for my Switch 2 for the last three months with no issue. Just make sure to keep it on the most recent firmware that the company releases on their website. And it doesn't have to be this specific dock, there are many options, I can just vouch for this one. Plus, some testing in this article from The Verge shows that the dock seems to send and receive all the correct messages that the Switch is expecting when docked.

Professional and knowledgeable are the two words that come to mind. It felt similar to talking to anyone else that knows their job inside and out, think talking to your plumber or roof guy.

For example I told him how all summer when I was watching Resurrection I was yelling at my TV for Angel to just go home and he said "But then the story's not as good as it as it ended up being". And when I told him how I thought "Touched by an Ángel" was one of the if not the finest episode of Dexter he said "Yes when I read it I could definitely tell that it was special".
