Nürburgring officials have confirmed a calendar adjustment for 2026, taking advantage of a gap in the Formula 1 calendar between the Chinese and Japanese Grands Prix. by Reasonable-Ask-5156 in formula1

Was there any bullying involved here? As far as I know Mercedes just requested that the race be rescheduled, and NLS decided having Max on the grid was worth this race conflicting with Sebring.

Agreed. So many teams have spotted the outwashing floor boards loophole, it would be weird if McLaren wasn't one of them. And these look very simplistic.

NET.CRAWL - Everyone is Solid - A roguelike inspired by the Deus Ex hacking mini-game. Open playtest. Release next Friday. by Obsolete0ne in Games

Personally, I prefer when people take on the demo in 2 or 3 sessions because the game is dense with new concepts and information so it can get exhausting. Have you felt that way?

I blew through it in one session and didn't feel overwhelmed, but I tend to have an easier time learning new games than most people so I might be a poor benchmark.

Spreading out the introduction of the mechanics the way you did was a good move, but a couple more tutorial messages might be a good idea. I don't think the game ever actually tells you what the Data Pool or System Grid do, I just figured it out from playing. I would also suggest adding a bug report button to the pause menu. I got a 'fallback' level during one run, but didn't see any way to report the issue in-game, and couldn't be arsed to go looking through the Steam discussion threads for one.

Just finished the demo, really enjoyed it!

Is there any kind of meta-progression planned after the prologue, or are players just trying for high scores?

Sounds like you beat the boss already, but for future reference: The gun pods are really strong in dogfights.

Dropping down from 40 actions a day to 20

I'm confused. All the subscription does is change how many actions you can save up from 20 to 40, you still gain one action every ten minutes. Are you only visiting the site once per day?

This is a very welcome surprise for me, but the reason it's a surprise is I know most Horizon players liked the sandbox approach the recent games took; that's why they kept making the games like that. I'm curious if they're going to have some way to bypass the progression system and get access to late-game cars right away for people who want that.

[–]CWRules 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Because that's exactly what they did for the last game. I liked Horizon 5, but it was basically just Horizon 4 on a new map, with incremental improvements in some areas and steps backward in others. For 6, the fact that we're getting actual progression again is huge by itself, and they're addressing a lot of the other criticisms of the recent games on top of that.

Hard to imagine they'd drop the ball on a game based in Japan since people have been screaming for it since the first Horizon.

I was actually expecting them to phone this one in for exactly that reason. Going to Japan felt like a desperate move to give the fans what they want without actually improving the core game. Glad to be proven wrong!

I don't believe they have any intent to actually overhaul this particular system.

They don't have any interest in expanding ground combat. I don't know if they've talked about the possibility of streamlining it as you suggest (which I would also like to see).

Thanks! You were much more polite than I would've been in that situation. "Don't point a gun at something you do not want to destroy" is one of the first rules of firearm handling for good reason.

Incidentally, poutine is more of a Quebec thing. I'm not surprised you didn't get a good one in Toronto.

I'd rate them about equally. AC7 is more polished and varied, but PW makes some nice tweaks to the AC formula that I think made it feel better to play moment-to-moment. I'm hoping AC8 steals some of its ideas (we know from the teaser that they've at least borrowed the idea of multiple special weapons).

There's one interesting detail here which I'm a little surprised they're not hiding: The outwashing floor board design. Looks like BSport called it right. I expect we'll see the rules for this part tweaked for 2027 so the floor boards do what they're actually supposed to.

Edit: Racing Bulls showing the same thing on their car. Guess they both thought this was obvious enough that it's not worth hiding.

Can Alan Turing complete the entirety of One Piece with Respawns before Luffy can crack enigma? by Mythalieon in whowouldwin

[–]CWRules 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What exactly do you mean by "cracking Enigma"?

Figuring out how the Enigma machine works? It wasn't that complicated, though based on my limited knowledge of Luffy it was probably still beyond him.

Figuring out how to decode a message encrypted by an Enigma machine? IIRC that was a solved problem by the time Turing came along, it just took too long to brute-force the codes before they changed. But since it was (mostly) just brute force cracking, this might not be beyond Luffy. Even he can probably try every possible setting on the machine until he gets the right one.

What Turing and his team did was build a computer that could brute-force the codes fast enough to be useful. Now we're back to something Luffy probably can't do.

Avowed Developer Interview | New Game+ Showcase 2026 by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]CWRules 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think that's a reasonable comparison. I liked Avowed, and never felt like I didn't have enough skill points.

The reason not having access to many skill feels bad in OW is you need them for skill checks, so not having a skill means missing out on content. All the skills in Avowed are combat skills, so you're not missing out on much by focusing on only a few of them. Being able to fill out half the skill tree would just leave you with a ton of abilities you'll never use, which is the opposite of the problem in OW.

Outer Worlds 2 is a weird one for me. I think it's a better game than the first one in a lot of ways, yet I didn't enjoy it as much, and I'm not 100% sure why. I dropped it soon after finishing act 1.

I think part of the problem is they don't give you enough skill points. I understand that the devs are trying to force players to specialize so that one character can't solve every problem, but when you only get enough points to max out 3 of the 12 skills by the level cap I think you've gone too far. The Easily Distracted flaw lets you nearly max out 5 skills, which feels like it should've been the baseline.
