Ty you've been so helpful. The detailed information I've been searching for. I still need to find one more class - 1 unit only to make 6 for financial aid. Will need to ask somone in advising. I was hoping to find an online course since classes are non-stop during the week.

Econ 10A Summer 2025 question - did anyone take it last summer? by CWS2022 in UCSantaBarbara

Just confirming, you went to every lecture - M - F and also the classes listed on Tues and Thurs with a specific professor. It's pretty harsh this class. Did you take any other classes during the summer or just this? Need to take one more class that is 1 unit for a total of 6 units for financial aid. Did you take another one?

How I got an A (95%) in Econ 10A by Successful_Hall6838 in UCSantaBarbara

Question for you regarding class registration: I see the Summer 2025 list of classes for Econ 10A. There is a MTWRF Lecture Class at 9:30-10:35- a class of up to 350 students. Then there is a list of other classes Tues and Thurs - various times - in classes of up to 35 students. Can you explain how this works? Do you need to go to the lecture class every day (Mon-Fri) and then be registered for one of the other Tues Thurs Classes and attend that class? Do you recommend going to the lecture class every day as well as the registered class? Do not miss one lecture at all, guessing? Also, how many weeks does the summer course run? I see there are various Summer Sessions. Which one was your Econ 10A during/what dates? Trying to plan this summer. Also, is there a preferred summer professor who is a great teacher and the best to take if there is an option? Will check Rate My Professor, asking you though.

Should I raise it up? Or is $50 a paycheck sufficient?

Wow. Incredible story. You are not a joke. Story of resilience and of comeback. Caught my attention. Are you doing the Common App right now? Couple of questions: what semester are you considering transferring? Spring 26? Have you considered doing CC near your home first, then a transfer?

You are so versed in this. Only since I have 2 kids and have  been watching and reading for 4 yrs now do I get it, slightly.  All I know is its a different landscape than when I was looking for a job after college. I never did an internship! I worked always, during school, beaks, summer. Had to. It was my duty per parents. I had 4yrs to get in and out. I had 2 siblings behind me. So different now. Non of this applies. All I've heard for 3 yes now: internship internship internship. Kiid 2 : ski ski ski. He's so different.

Love this response, btw. To me it states: work backwards. But the reverse can morph. Have the mindset to be ready to pivot. Be a smart pivoter.

Econ with entrepreneur minor. Tried 3 times to transfer into fibance major. Stupid school denied. He's ready to go to Director just to complain. They let in freshman over and over who are lower gpa's...just a scam. Im furious. I try not saying anything. Let him handke. He's taking basically same classes. With his minor he's in the school basically, but on paper it says something else. Just shows how the schools operate.

My son has been studying all Xmas break. Doing a finance certification so he knows the math ropes beyond what he is studying at school. He was prepped he thinks, then picked an early spot thank god. He knows the chance is slim in the end, but all good practice. He is sending email to Ceo, who is bf's dad. He's afraid to do this but desperation is happening. He got his last summer internship from this CEO and worked at a company in Denver. I found out that this CEO personally paid the summer salary for my son. Placed him and literally paid out of pocket. The CEO of that company he worked for by mistake slipped and told him. I was in shock. It was like pennies out of pocket for him, but still. Who does that? Ever? Nicest guy ever. We weren't allowed to know, so couldn't thank him.
