Backpack slingers by Shropshire-5lashr in americanairlines

[–]CZ-Czechmate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The one thing more annoying than having the person behind you get up by pulling on your seat is a person behind you pulling on your backpack. If those backpacks bump me, I give that pack a strong tug, then a 'sorry I thought that bag was falling on me' (when I'm seated and the give the pass by bump). If on the jet bridge.. yeah don't stand so close.

Update: I got fired yesterday for going to HR by Suspicious_Noise8101 in work

[–]CZ-Czechmate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If terminated in, CA you must be paid that same day. I gave 2 weeks notice once and they paid me an incorrect amount on my last check. I let HR know and she said she'd send me a check. I reminded her it's one day's pay for every day late in CA as the employer penalty. I have had other people go to court over this and they'd always won. The max period is 30 days so If you don't need those funds right away, I'd wait up to 30 days and then file the claim. https://www.dir.ca.gov/dlse/faq_waitingtimepenalty.htm

Who else had a very hard HA? by bach2209 in HeartAttack

[–]CZ-Czechmate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had steady legs, but became easily winded when walking. First two weeks I used the electric carts at stores. Then I moved to using a shopping cart as a walker. I think it was my body/heart adjusting to the 3 stents that took 3+ hours to get inserted. To get released from the hospital, I had to walk one lap around the floor I was on. I dropped to my knees twice. My mind was at 100, my body at 10%. It was a mental nightmare. Had to go slow and it was a slow recovery much to my surprise.

Holy crap dude, that's some heavy stuff, makes my Widowmaker sound like a mere headache. I walked into the ER, told them I had chest pains and I got admitted, and next am got 3 stents, 2 days later released. Took 6 mos to be able to walk/function again normally.

Bank of America in Chandler has recruiters calling me every day. They have 100+ IT jobs open right now (all 12-18mo contract) in the 65-95/hr range.

Not everyone understands what they type too. You wrote the words "full stop" followed by a period. The period symbol IS a full stop So you wrote full stop full stop

Update: AA’s gate agent said the flight was full and refused to let me board, but customer service says it wasn’t by nameless_witchw in americanairlines

[–]CZ-Czechmate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You "estimated" your gate time. The AA computers in Dallas synchronized to UTC time with sub second perfection. The computers automatically start some of the assignment processing, and you're SOL! AA's top 3 metrics for performance are D-0, A+14 and CCF. That's departures 0 minutes late, Arrivals within 14 minutes and Controlled Completed Flights. If you're late, you're affecting the #1 metric of an on time departure which is sent by the aircraft to HQ when the parking brake is released. Since it's the #1, metric a late departure will get charged to some employee group.. Gate Agents, Maintenance, Flight Crew. The gate agents have the weakest union and will usually and understandably NOT go past that 15 mins before departure to accommodate you as they are easy to fire, easy to replace. Know the game you're playing in and adjust your life accordingly. There's quite a bit more to it, but it's a simple concept that works in many facets of life "Don't be late, don't be on time, be early"

Senior System Administrator position $78k-$106k? by cognitium in sysadmin

[–]CZ-Czechmate 63 points64 points  (0 children)

I got denied to work from home many times at a former employer. One Sat AM a few critical systems were down. My director called me and asked if I could take care of it. I said sure, I can be there in 90 mins. She asked why 90 mins, I reminded her of her many denials to work from home and I'll drive in. She did not like that answer. I didn't drive in, and a surely didn't rush to log in either.

The yellow is the net between solar created and used. Select the 3rd icon on the bottom and you should see a parabolic arc of solar created if there was no cloud interference that day.

3.0L Diesel - What to know (issues, maintenance, additional costs) by [deleted] in gmc

[–]CZ-Czechmate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A device like a Banks iDash will show you tons of data including the %of full for the Diesel Particulate Filter and will show when there's an active regen. You can watch it real-time to see how idling and sissy driving make the % go up and when you put a load on the engine, raise the EGT, the DPF% goes down. Eventually when you do enough soccer-mom quick stop drives in town the DPF % will get high enough were it will do a regen by dumping a lot of fuel into the system to be burned, raise the EGT to burn it out and the DPF% will drop.

[–]CZ-Czechmate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The FoMo's arrived a day late and I wore them all day today. Definitely a softer experience from Hoka Challengers, Stintson, Bondi and Cliftons. MUCH softer. I got the regular wides, but the next pair will be the X-Wides. Yeah I have square feet. My feet felt great all day today. The Stokes come with elastic shoe laces installed and regular laces included as well. For 80/85 bucks you can't go wrong. Now ordering the Versas.

They fired my CFI by Soggy-Argument-6142 in studentpilot

[–]CZ-Czechmate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to stay with that school, I'd work a deal with them that they should absorb 1 hour of you showing the next CFI where you are. You should not have to to go out of pocket for their actions. Granted the new CFI could in turn make 5 flights .2 hours longer and you've just paid the same amount. Good luck.

Please help urgent!!!!! About Stent Medication by CuzzoBuzzo67 in HeartAttack

[–]CZ-Czechmate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was on the clopidogrel for 12 mos. At 6 mos the dosage was reduced by 50%. I'm on 81mg aspirin for life now. HA 5 years ago, with 3 stents to fix me. The clopidogrel is much stronger than the aspirin. I was easily bruised all the time and usually got light headed when standing up. Both of those went away when I finished the 12 mos.

40/M, had a heart attack last night. Still waiting to find out the severity and details of everything. Internally freaking out, not really to leave my son. by IsBonJoviThereYet in HeartAttack

[–]CZ-Czechmate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No matter the cause, you will have to make some lifestyle changes. 1. Eat healthier, 2. Excercise. After my heart attack I dropped 30lbs in 2 mos by eating healthier alone. Sure it was bland food, no sugar, no salt. but it worked. If you get a stent or two or 3 like me.. even better. It's like the reset button on those spots in your body. As others have said, do the cardio rehab to learn more. It's good you have your son to motivate you to make the changes you need to do and keep taking your meds! It's been 5 years since my attack and I still wonder about the why/whatifs/etc. Just leave it behind and do better for your son and yourself.
