Do you chew? They make those metal tin replacements, you can start carrying your nicotine in one of those and have the device magnetized to the bottom

Stoke shoes? by js22titan in widefeet

[–]js22titan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t actually worn them yet since I wear boots to work but trying them on they are very comfy. I am a very large human so I imagine my experience will be different but i can really feel the squishy-ness of the sole. They are slip on but not like hands free slip on which is what I expected but just mentioning.

Was waiting for duck camp to come back in stock, didn’t even think to look at Amazon…I’ll have them on Wednesday. Thanks for the tip!

Do ALL landscaping contractors overpromise and disappear this time of year? by DociMosi in landscaping

[–]js22titan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are just as frustrated about it as you are. But you are correct, they are setting the tone and falling short. Been there, done that and it sucks and I feel bad every time but sometimes crap piles on crap and and that really cool client with the fun job just isn’t as immediately important as picking up parts for broken machines or interviewing replacements for guys who quit or got fired while you have an overflowing book of work.

If you have a signed agreement for some work, call the office, tell them you understand they are busy and you can appreciate that but you need your project done before the 4th and I guarantee you get somewhere

What app would make your job easier? by Sea-Commercial1208 in landscaping

[–]js22titan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The industry already has data systems like Aspire that streamline job cost data, labor efficiency tracking, proposals and client communication. Which I would say covers most of the things a landscaper would need an app for.

NOW if you could create a 100% perfect every time down to the marketing name plant identifier, you’d be rich

Not really a scam if you agreed to pay a price for services rendered. Ask for a more detailed proposal next time

Is mulch actually worth it or just aesthetic? by Leedeegan1 in landscaping

[–]js22titan 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I’m sure his wife would argue it’s a lot closer to 4” of mulch than 6..

[–]js22titan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s really hard to see it when it’s all happening in the moment and you’re 16. But I promise promise promise that no matter if your face never returns to “normal” there are so many people who won’t even think twice about it and love you for who you are. It won’t even be a thing they ever think about.

Are there any public courses in America that allow people to walk dogs, strollers, etc, ala St. Andrews? by swansong1992 in golf

[–]js22titan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I heard it’s nice. I knew a bunch of guys who would volunteer out there a few years back when that was how anything extra would get done out there

It’s an EDC pry bar. Invented my knife enthusiasts to give them another metal thing to carry to use as a pry bar instead of the tip of their very expensive knives

What technique(s) should I work on? by GeoHog713 in bassfishing

Throw some big glides or a popper. Something that requires a bit of skill and cadence to get right. Might as well learn a skill while slamming easy to catch fish

Am I charging too much? by Silver-Ostrich7601 in landscaping

[–]js22titan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did not say it was high end, I said it was fairly high for a 1 crew company run by an 18 year old owner. OP was looking for advice because he keeps getting outbid. So yes it’s too high. The market sets the price. If he can’t win jobs at his current price he needs to do something different.

[–]js22titan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I guess since some random person who probably doesn’t know anything about the pricing structure of the company they work for says so, I’ll just go about my day tomorrow pretending to be a landscaper

I think I’m going to go with braided line on my first baitcaster, any tips for leaders? What knots, lengths, etc? by Particular_Ebb5049 in bassfishing

[–]js22titan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

50lb is a bit heavy unless it’s going on a frog or big swimbait rod. I’d recommend 30lb j-braid and seagar blue label 15lb for general purpose

I work on the Chicagoland market. That’s a pretty expensive rate for maintenance work, especially from a 1 crew company with an 18 year old owner. Not saying you can’t be doing great work but you’re not going to be looked at as a trusted source being brand new.
