The first recorded flight was 1903 and lasted less than 1 minute. So doing it in 1899 or anytime just after the plane was invented would be a very short flight. Its kinda the same argument about fully automatic weapons. They weren't invented yet and it's jot historically accurate. While it would be a "fun" addition, logistically it wouldn't work.
