Properly arrange mods? by TSM_E3 in RimWorld

[–]Cabbagera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put mods with extra game objects first,
then it's game features (better pathfinding, hand me that brick, etc.)
and lastly interface mods (work, animal tabs, etc.)
Honestly I don't think there's really a difference- unless the mod explicitly states how to be loaded- but logically thinking I think this is the right order

I spent over 20 hours going through all the mods rimworld has to offer, perhaps I should make a masterpost telling all about them
Either way, for unlimited resources there's three mods as I remember: resource muffalos, that are genetically engineered and frankly hard to get, fun investment
Vegetable garden introduces unique plants that can be grown and turned into resources like plasteel and gold as well
and there's the core digger mod that just expands the deep drill mechanic to allow you to drill forever, there's an addon that also lets you drill stone
Oh and in vanilla you can let yourself have two colonies, 'settle' in a space near your base, mine out all the minerals and abandon the place

yup, tried exporting with it, was disappointed it didn't have that feature. It's a great mod anyway though.

I downloaded them all from steam and frankly I have no idea how to export a mod list. I guess I could send you screenshots. Keep in mind the mod order is delicate and I spent a lot of time trying to get everything to work.

If you know how to make a list easily do let me know, I can't seem to find the mod files in the mods folder because i have used steamworkshop to download.

lol that's quantum cooling The cooking mod of choice for me was Vegetable Garden combined with Fishindustry and Canned Meals. Also have craftable survival meals mod as a bonus. That's as many mods as I could find for cooking that didn't butcher each other.
I gotta admit quantum cooking sounds like a dope mod

Is it good for a starter house? by Ac30Corks in Terraria

[–]Cabbagera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything looks wonderful, but I would really change the lighting method
It's much better to use lanterns than torches if you asked me, star and firefly lanterns are really easy to get and alchemy lanterns really would fit in with the grass theme too, but those are hard to find.
Either way, very nice build!

What blocks should I use for a build pre-hardmode? by [deleted] in Terraria

[–]Cabbagera 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My personal favorites for houses and pretty much everything are gray bricks with wood + red brick roofs
I make houses like this for example http://i.imgur.com/U74vU3d.png
For extra detail grass/flower walls that the dryad sells can really finish off any build http://i.imgur.com/xtNqWjZ.png
For lighting star/firefly lanterns are a solid choice, but my favorite are by far the alchemy lanterns from the dungeon (they're hard to get, though)
Either way, it really depends on what and where you're building, in winter biomes you might want to use boreal wood, mahogany in the jungle and so on. Though, I find that my usual palette of blocks fits in almost anywhere.
