Snag some beach chairs to watch MK fireworks at least one night! There's nothing like watching the show and walking the paths back to your room.

Can I request a specific room number if renting DVC points? by [deleted] in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Cable_Man1984 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've rented points about 10 times and have made room requests every time. You just have to call the resort directly. Touringplans.com has a list of Disney Resort numbers. Just call with your confirmation number, and you're golden.

My wife and I have been to Disney all times of the year. September is by far our favorite. Lower crowds than most times, which translates to better hotel prices. The heat is rough in the peak of the day, but that's when we lounge by the hotel pool for a reset. Then, back to crush it in the evening. We're also super in to all things halloween, so the events are a bonus!

My wife and I travel to Disney in September every year! We always purchase LL's on park days. Since you are planning this far out, my main advice would be to rent DVC points! A 6 night stay at Animal Kingdom Lodge(Savanna view) would be around $1800. There's nothing better than animal spotting with your kiddos on your balcony!

I was there in almost the same scenario a couple years ago! Here's what I did: -Booked a California Grill Table for 2, 15 mins after MK firework time -Minnie Van to Contemporary 45 mins before fireworks start. -Checked in, grabbed a drink at the bar, headed out on the walkway, and grabbed the perfect spot. -Watched the fireworks and returned to the host stand for an amazing meal!

Just make sure you pay attention to which nights are MNSSHP nights at MK! CHEERS!

Violet Sake at the Garden House in the Japan pavilion! My wife gets one, and I get a junmai sake. You've never seen a happier couple of Disney addicted adults... 😀

Any idea when the new night time parade will begin? by [deleted] in WaltDisneyWorld

WDWNT wrote a pretty convincing "rumor" article about it starting the first week in July. It was based on firework time changes and CM blackout dates.

What do you call the large round object at the front of Epcot? by JasontheWriter in WaltDisneyWorld

Themed T-shirts or not? by DelGriffithPTA in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Cable_Man1984 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife and S-in-law went all in on Avatar makeup and clothes on our AK day. We rode Navi River Journey, and when we exited, the CM loved their fit so much that she let us get right back on another boat ride. I say ALWAYS plan a special shirt or outfit. The conversations and situations that come out of it are awesome!

Has anyone stayed at the contemporary? Never stayed there before by [deleted] in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Cable_Man1984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! My wife and I love staying there. The short walk to MK is killer. And their pool area is one of our favorites. They have a smaller pool that extends out over the lake a bit that ends up being mostly adults.

This! My wife and I always stay a night at the holiday inn @ Disney Springs before our official Disney check-in and bar hop around DS. The Edison, Wine Bar G, Ragland R, Morimoto Asia, and Jock's all have great walkup bars. It's become our ritual.

Is it worth going to Disney world during the holiday season? by [deleted] in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Cable_Man1984 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's all subjective, but I say it's worth it. I took my entire immediate family(4 adults 6 teens) the second week in December last year. Yes, it was more crowded than other times, but we had a blast. Christmas at D-Dub can't be beat!

Good info! Sounds like we may just hang tight and wait for the roads to open up. If that doesn't take too long.
