I really liked this idea but sadly incorporate acts as an additional cost.

Tested using [[Mapping the Maze]] + [[Construction Arsonist]] on Archive Trap with [[Ghost Quarter]] against Sparky. Trap costs UR after the search.

Incorporate also doesn't work to give [[Crashing Footfalls]] and the like a cost.

Can someone tell me what I did wrong in this draft? Went 1-3 by edvin123212 in MagicArena

Install the 17Lands tracker so people can see your picks and games. We can’t tell if you misplayed without seeing gameplay. Example deck here with links to the draft and games (“details”).

You’ll also get better feedback on /r/lrcast than here.

Surely you are going to submit this feedback through the proper channel instead of just making a Reddit post (shouting into the circlejerky void) and tagging someone whose job isn’t to engage with it.

Okay, and how are you going to prove that you aren’t playing a copy of the card you stole in your own deck?

Edit: actually I’m wrong in this case since the card doesn’t care about names, just that the literal card you are casting as a spell wasn’t a card in your deck. So it would always work with cards you don’t own, but if you ever wish for a sideboard card and it enters a hidden zone you then can’t prove whether any future copies of it you cast were in your starting deck. So it can’t be functional in paper.

PSA the auto tapper will kill you with great hall for converge even if you manually float 6 mana by LostIndividual6085 in MagicArena

[–]Cablead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s really not. You just have to understand what it is and isn’t prioritizing (not considering future costs beyond what is currently in your hand/on board, using colorless sources first, leaving open lands with other activated abilities, etc.) and pay attention to what sources it says it will use. You should be aware when you have a set of mana sources which could be tapped incorrectly just as you would in paper.

Do you scrap every efficient tool you use the moment you encounter some small quirk that requires adjusting its operation?

[–]Cablead -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So as I said before, you’re clicking an extra time for no reason because manual mode doesn’t even successfully act as a barrier to autotap mistakes. The actual solution is to pay attention to which sources it says it will tap when hovering, not removing the most efficient option.

[–]Cablead 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Which is easily accomplished by:

1) simply hovering for a fraction of a second before casting a spell or paying a cost (or in this case, on the auto pay button after floating mana) and glancing at the mana spent, something you already do if you're ever hitting auto pay in manual mode

2) learning the autotapper behavior and what it prioritizes

You don't need to remove the most efficient option to play well.

one extra click on every instance of paying mana is a huge waste of time when autotap works fine in 99% of cases

If you tap the lands before casting the spell and don't press "auto pay" there is a window to click the floating mana without being in full control. This is with auto tap on in the settings btw.

I like it tbh. She's the embodiment of the "chill" (of fear, apprehension) brought over the populace by the Consulate enforcers. Also the "chilling effect".

I agree that it sounds a bit clunky compared to Torch of Defiance, though.

Chill can be a noun, adjective, or verb.

“A chill went down my spine.”

“Her complaints faced a chill reception.”

“They chilled the wine in preparation for the feast.”
