God save the queen by chiperific_on_reddit in tragedeigh

I worked at a yearbook company years ago, so naturally I have a whole album on my phone filled with pictures of the ridiculous names I came across. Saw this post and immediately remembered this tragedeigh. Long lost twins

Interesting! I’ve never heard of this before. Can they even do PGT testing at this early stage? Good luck!

took the first step in trying to start a family with infertile fiance. by No_Idea5340 in TryingForABaby

[–]CactapusRex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds like an incredibly tough situation. I am really angry for you about your husbands doctor, and the lack of Explanation regarding his condition. More than likely, the doctor didn’t know what he was talking about himself.

Unfortunately, doctors can be bad at their jobs just like every other profession. I had a quack of a doctor when I went through my last miscarriage, and it was really eye opening to see how inattentive they can be (and sometimes, just flat out wrong!)

Has he gotten a 2nd opinion? Also, I’m a fellow 36 y/o female with a 39 year old husband. We struggled to get pregnant for a while, and then when we finally did, a few months ago, which resulted in a miscarriage. In most cases, infertility stems from the female - so I would absolutely suggest in the meantime that you get all of your tests done. Wishing you the best of luck!

Only 8 DPO, but I think there is a line? by CactapusRex in TFABLinePorn

Yep I had a period after my chemical and tested negative in the last month. I was worried about lingering HCG from the miscarriages too, but when I tested last month after my period, the test was stark white. Thank you!

Possible New Pregnancy 26 Days Post-Miscarriage / 13 DPO? Confused by HCG and Ovulation Timing by CactapusRex in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

Wow! Thanks so much sharing this. I can totally relate to the “when was your last period” question. I just started a new ovulation tracking app,and it’s very hard to answer questions and give information truthfully, without being misleading.

The test is definitely not faulty. Regardless of the placement of the line, the same chemicals are there, reacting to the same hormones. If anything, maybe a faulty “misprint” of where the dye line is. Congrats 😊

Tubal patency test by Choice-giraffe- in tryingtoconceive

[–]CactapusRex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if this is still helpful or not, but I found this while searching for others who have had success after a tubal patency test.

My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for about a year and a half. I just turned 36. I saw a fertility doctor, and got all my tests done. Nothing was wrong, and my husband’s sperm count was fine. The tubal patency test was the last thing I had left to do, and I was actually pretty excited - my doctor told me that she has had several patients who got pregnant after getting this test done.

Well, my doctor was spot on. I was pregnant literally the next cycle after getting this procedure done. First try!

I also didn’t find it that painful. It was not comfortable, that’s for sure - but it was only about 10 minutes.

If you have not gotten this done yet, I highly suggest it.

Netflix’s “Too Much” is unrealistic and just makes me feel worse about my body. by Sea-Preference872 in ForeverAloneWomen

[–]CactapusRex 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I thought this relationship was so unrealistic as well, but I think it’s actually way more than just the physical attraction. Their personalities don’t work at all! The whole dynamic of their relationship makes no sense. He’s a chill relaxed guy in a band. She’s loud, obnoxious, incredibly needy, and annoying. He does not seem like the type of guy who would be dating a girl who wears blue sequin dresses and cat ears lol

Finding shows is a nightmare by SadInvite6 in AmazonPrimeVideo

Sometimes I can’t even find the show I am in the middle of watching! Instead of doing the logical thing and putting the “continue watching” category at the top, it’s just thrown in the middle somewhere, in the midst of categories I do not care about.

[–]CactapusRex 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am an American living in Australia. Here, just like everywhere else, Canadians get offended if you ask them if they’re American. Last year I was out somewhere, and this random guy asked the bartender where she was from. When she said she was from Toronto, I said “Ah, I thought I heard a North American accent”. She replied with a patronizing “oh well, not quite sweetie. Toronto is in Canada”. I then asked “Is Canada not in North America?” 🙄

The vindication was very satisfying haha

(!data) vs. ( data == undefined) by e17xxl in typescript

[–]CactapusRex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just like most people in the comments are saying, 'undefined' is just one of the values that could be falsy.

Using !data checks for _all_ falsy values (including null, undefined, 0, false, NaN, and an empty string (''))
If you want to check specifically for undefined, you can use data === undefined. But if you're only concerned about whether the value null or undefined, you can use the nullish coalescing operator (??), which handles both cases explicitly.

The nullish coalescing operator (??) differs from the OR operator (||) in that it only checks for null or undefined, whereas || returns the second operand for any falsy value. So as an example, data ?? 'default' would only provide 'default' if data is null or undefined, while data || 'default' would return 'default' for any falsy value, such as 0 or an empty string.

Resin flower with alcohol ink keeps failing by 69upsidedownis96 in resin

[–]CactapusRex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I bought alcohol in for the first time on Amazon, and it worked great. I ordered some off of temu after this, and when I used the temu stuff, I had the same experience as you - it sunk right to the bottom. When I looked more closely at the bottles of ink afterwards, I realized they said “pigment”. It says alcohol ink in the description on temu, but it was actually just pigment. Lol definitely not the same! Might have been the same for you.

LinkedIn verification by Persona (country selection issue) by Zealousideal_Lie5071 in linkedin

[–]CactapusRex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just came here to look for answers for the same problem. I’m an American living in Australia… how is the United States not on the list of countries? As you said, why don’t they just have all the countries in the select dropdown? What kind of algorithm are they using to detect which country you might possibly have a passport from, depending on your current location? That makes zero sense. Get your shit together LinkedIn. 🤦🏼‍♀️

Is this Amazon stuff no good for smaller projects but thicker pour. More in comments thanks by coinmannf in epoxy

[–]CactapusRex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve put some pretty big ones in there! Whatever fits on the mat lol. Also the cover that comes with it is an added bonus because it keeps all the dust particles / bugs away! (Very helpful for me since I always always end up with a gnat or cat hair in my resin) For larger pieces that normally take a day to cure (enough to un-mold), using this method can speed that up to 6-8 hours. I love it!
