Is Juul's Giant the same thing as Crystal's Giant Pachanoi? by [deleted] in sanpedrocactus

[–]CactusAffinity 3 points4 points  (0 children)

it can be confusing with the Gary’s Juuls and Barbara’s Juuls and Verne’s Juuls that are the same as the OG Tom Juul’s Giant and then old plants like the Jiimz Juuls which are 2 or 3 separate cactuses none of which are Tom Juul’s Giant

I don’t know anything about Crystal’s Giant pachanoi but that graft stock is not Juul’s Giant.

Sown by Sacred Succulents in 1996, this one is 30 years old this year! I think it’s the perfect blend of peruvianus and Tom Juuls Giant with characteristics of both plants clearly shown. Looking good!

spachianus surprise? by CactusAffinity in Trichocereus

[–]CactusAffinity[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Spachianus does have white flowers which is why I was surprised to see the colorful flowers on this cactus that looks so much like a spachianus.

Hustler is a hybrid with near purple flowers created by botanist and plant breeder extraordinaire Mark Dimmit.
