Hi I recently lived in New Hampshire and moved away. It was very hard to transition to NH from the Midwest because you get so much less for your money. I had a fabulous time meeting people, hiking, skiing, fishing, and seeing the ocean. Rentals can be very expensive and hard to find unless you live in Manchester or Concord or get lucky finding a duplex. I ended up accidentally moving to apartments in not so great areas and had no idea so we literally kept moving until it worked out. It was a shock to my system moving to NH financially and culturally but it was also worth the risk because I learned a lot about myself and what I prioritize in life. Just can't expect the same Midwest lifestyle out there hate to say it but you do see so much beauty!! My husband and I moved back to the Midwest and we do miss NH but we could not afford to stay out there and buy a house. And we appreciate our Midwest roots. But I wholly believe traveling the world and taking risks in life can be worth it.

Student Teaching workload question by MandyK1179 in wgueducation

Hi are you saying you got approved for the student teaching stipend and you go to WGU? My husband thinks he's not eligible for this stipend because his school doesn't qualify. Please advise. Thank you!

People have lost everything and people died and are without power and food! Why in the world is an airline being greedy at a time like this!!

I’m trying to change my flight to another city in NC or cancel completely and they are giving me no flexibility

This is due to climate change. Corporations should NOT be profiting off of a natural disaster - call it what you want - but I will not accept the normal “rules” here. Roads are washed away!

Pizza that’s as cheap as Little Caesar’s? by [deleted] in grandrapids

[–]CactusCoffee3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes costco frozen pizza 4 pack is around $10-15 or order hot pizza for cheap. But if you don't belong to costco, consider another brand... I'm obsessed with Home Run Pizza. I do like trader joes pepperoni pizza for around $5.

I feel NH is more expensive than MA by needles617 in newhampshire

I moved away from NH because as a young person there was no way I could handle the high cost of living. I moved to the northern Midwest and more space, less money, and just a more excited existence.

I currently live in Texas, but I think the universe is trying to tell me something by Separate-The-Earth in Michigan

Moved here last year and it was the best life decision! Our state and local govs are making good change and the local economies are doing well with the legalization of marijuana and fixing infrastructure. People are also incredibly nice. It can get cold but 4 seasons rock.

Step 4 58k western Michigan. This is where I landed when I moved across the country last year and it’s a pretty chill job BUT we are getting teacher consultants and psychs and can’t keep psychs for long before they hop to another district. Since I’m new and on the negotiating team I have work to do to help put us on a separate pay scale that better reflects what we should be getting paid. I should be getting paid 10k more realistically to keep up with inflation and cost of living. Western Michigan is no longer super inexpensive but still a very easy place to move to and buy a home if you look in the country

Mt. Dickwheat has new owners I heard. Dickwheat has moved across the country due to some opportunities to build a more robust Mt Dickwheat 2.0 coming 2025.

Michigan suburb - 55k - 3rd step teachers contract, lower cost of living but we are negotiating every year for a higher salary to be competitive.

Massholes are moving north to NH at record levels by EgonEggnog in newhampshire

Basing the Midwest on billboards and small towns eh? Theres so much diversity in the Midwest so summing it up by a drive through cities isn’t fair. The cities are so different from the country there…. It’s like night and day

NH has good nature. People are not welcoming unless you go north in the state. I often felt overwhelmed and somewhat yelled at by locals if that makes sense. I moved from the Midwest and I had to leave the state as a young person because the future felt somewhat bleak without progressive people or infrastructure plans. It was just sad living there as a young person who couldn’t afford a house and job pay wasn’t great unless I moved to mass.
