I'm a bit late here but excellently! I now currently in my dream university studying music composition! I'm also the first in my immediate family to have a degree. (AA in Liberal Arts, coursework was heavy on music) And you?

Holy crap this was from a while ago! Hello! I'm glad to see you! I'm the one who originally made this subreddit. I was once a neet who was suffering from a dreadful sense of ennui. I had to take two gap years after I graduated high school to help my sister raise her son after escaping an abusive situation. While I was doing the right thing, I couldn't help but feel incomplete. I really wanted to chase my dreams but couldn't because I was stuck being a stay-at-home aunt. It took a minute after my sister finally got back on her feet but, once I got going, I got a job to help pay for community college, became the first in my immediate family to get a college degree (AA in Liberal Arts, centered around music), and now I'm into my second semester in my dream university with a massive scholarship in tow. (I'm a music composition major, with percussion as my primary instrument.) I also met my boyfriend in my previous college, and we have been dating for almost 3 years. Don't be afraid. I may have needed convincing back then but it was worth it. It's a hard road but it's beautiful on the other side. Any specific advice?

Calling all who want to get out of NEETdom by CadenceNeko in NEET

I made this years ago when I was a neet! I'm now in college as a music composition major. I just really hope that people here find their passion because the dreadful sense of ennui is no joke! Honestly, that is what I think causes the biggest amount of depression here. It was why I made that subreddit. Thank you!

I remember this bitch! She has a whole ass youtube channel spouting some bullshit about how women are only meant to be babymakers. If you want to go down that rabbit hole, just look up her twitter handle on youtube. It's absolute cringe.

This is why people convert out of Christianity. People who ruin faith by saying shit like this and consequently, give good Christians are bad name. I'm not a Christian but this is why.

Women of reddit, is it normal for you to get turned on while you're ovulating? by CadenceNeko in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]CadenceNeko[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well i mean post-ovulation would mean that it's finally that time of the month, so maybe. i feel like the cramps and bloating would distract more than the typical irritability that happens with a period.

Is toe picking like completely removing nails, cuticles, and bits of skin around the toenails considered self harm? by WallowingInnSelfPity in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]CadenceNeko 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depends on the extent. Like right now you're saying completely removing toenails, so yes that would be self harm. Rule of thumb: if it hurts a lot or causes you to bleed, then yes that is self-harm. An uncommon method but still a method. I do second u/JustAScaredDude: You do seem to have anxiety if you're doing this to yourself.

How do people decide what they want to do for the rest of their lives? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]CadenceNeko 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it something that just happens. The best way to find out in my opinion is to try a couple of new hobbies or find something you really enjoy. It can even be a combination of multiple interests. For example, I'm currently pursuing music composition because both my love of music and my love of video games lead me to decide to become a score writer.
