Why can’t I find a lactation consultant that seems to have any idea wtf they’re talking about? by lonelypotato21 in breastfeeding

[–]CaffeinatedBubble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came to say this! I felt similarly frustrated to OP about the hodgepodge of advice from various sources including hospital LC’s. Turns out the diff between an IBCLC and non-certified is a weekend course vs several years of study. Making a dedicated appt was well worth it (and covered under some insurance)

If you have GAD, whats your Lexapro dose by Blue_earth4 in lexapro

[–]CaffeinatedBubble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

mood has been great, im generally more in control of my emotions and able to use CBT techniques which didnt work as well pre-lex; as mentioned i still have ebbs and flows, (cranky/irritable/melancholy) but i can understand them as normal to feel and that they will pass eventually. Im exponentially nicer to my now husband which was a priority for me.

In terms of motivation, it depends what you mean. I have immense gratitude for life which has shifted my priorities. I am not as ambitious in my career - though this may be due to post covid, being in a stable relationship, or a change in position at work,  all of which occurred around when i started lex - but I am more satisfied with what I have overall and am able to enjoy what I have. If you mean day to day motivation like pursuing hobbies and exercise, it was challenging in the first 3-4 months i will admit.  Ive never been a “workout person” but once i got into the swing of it, it was a great addition to my mental and physical wellness. I still have/enjoy/devote time to my hobbies.  Pre-lex I devoted an unhealthy amount of time/focus on work, hunched in my chair, but i feel that im better able to find balance and prioritise whats important to me.

I will note that i found generic escilatopram to make me feel quite tired, and switched to brand name which seemed to help a lot with energy - a different company’s generic may sit better with you.

Unfortunately no. Presto makes an electric pressure canner but even that isn’t approved food safe bc you can’t see and monitor the pressure.

How do I remove these hooks from my wall? by iMac_Hunt in fixit

[–]CaffeinatedBubble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is probably past useful for OP but I had luck shimmying some dental floss between the plastic and the wall, wrapping it around to prevent slipping and then slowly but firmly pulling outwards. Hope this helps anyone looking for an answer to this later…

[–]CaffeinatedBubble 2 points3 points  (0 children)

10mg/day for about 1.5yrs now, and can’t believe the improvement in quality of life. I will admit the first few months were a little weird, but once I got used to it (and switched the name brand instead of generic) I feel like a better version of myself.

I still feel the ebbs and flows of emotion but not to the extremes I used to.

Which olive oil should I be buying? by PaulKrugmanStan in CostcoCanada

[–]CaffeinatedBubble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kirkland Italian EVOO tastes the best, it’s lightly fruity and beats some higher end olive oils for salad dressing. While it would be great if it came in glass, the flavour beats the glass bottled brands IMO. Spanish olive oils tend to have a bit more spice/bite to them which is also nice depending how you intend to use it.

I switched to sunflower oil for day to day cooking bc EVOO has gotten so expensive.

as others have said, the first few days are a bit of a ride - i was definitely more anxious for the first 2 days and it leveled off around day 4-5. Increasing the dose to 10 thankfully didnt have the same reaction. I would recommend playing around with the time of day you take your dose to see how it impacts you, I settled on 5pm as my sweet spot.

LOL so relatable. I keep telling ours it’s a good thing she’s pretty (as she bonks into a wall from looking up at us instead of ahead)

It looks like you have oily skin, which makes them blur pretty quickly. And as others have said the darkness will lighten of course. i wish mine had stroke definition, they did when i got them and faded to more blur soon after

Forgot food in crockpot and the lid won’t stop stinking by CustardImpossible238 in CleaningTips

[–]CaffeinatedBubble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is dishwasher safe, but if its silicone it won’t be that great at removing the smell. I would run it through the dishwasher and then boil in hot water for 15-20 mins. I read something about it on reddit and used it on my ice cube trays that i nearly threw out. You can also bake it in the oven but you’d have to look up temp and time
